Of the new Doctor Who series 8 showrunner Steven Moffat teased to EW, “There’s no point pretending that it’s not the most interesting, dynamic thing that you’ve got to sell in that first episode. It’s going to be about ‘What’s he like? How’s he different?’ I suppose it feels a bit like a character piece, but there’s plenty of action and nonsense and jeopardy, as there ever is in Doctor Who.”
Coleman added that Peter Capaldi’s Doctor is “a lot fiercer” and “this man is a total adrenaline junkie.” This comes as no surprise to us, as the fandom has come to expect Capaldi playing a fiercer Doctor (look at those eyebrows!).
The BBC announced last month that Doctor Who series 8 will premiere on August 23. Hit the link to see the latest teaser.
The series hit a small bump in the road earlier this week when several series 8 scripts leaked. Moffat pleaded with fans to not spoil details online if they find themselves reading it, and luckily those who have are keeping their lips tight – just as they did when the early screening of “Asylum of the Daleks” revealed Coleman (the next companion) was in an episode with Rory and Amy.
As August gets closer, so do more reveals like episode titles and synopsis, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated all-through out the rest of the summer as the news rolls in.
