Louie season 4 is coming soon, and the first official clips have just been released.
Last week, a few short Louie season 4 trailers were released that unfortunately didn’t show much at all that gave us any real look at what season 4 would hold, but now three clips can fill that void.
The first clip shows Louie going to the doctor:
Louie attempts to tell the doctor that he hurt his back, but the only thing the doctor has to say is “my professional diagnosis is that your back hurts.” Clearly, Louie wanted more, but it’s a good example of how Louie shows the weird absurdities in life, and not getting what we need from people is one of those absurdities.
The scene at the doctor is continued in the next clip/mini trailer:
“Come see me when you have something fun like a blood disease,” the doctor continues. “That’s what I went to school for.” The clip also shows Louie contemplating life and death (again), and with the various clips surrounding this back injury, it looks like at least one episode will center around the theme of mortality.
A third clip shows Louie being dumbstruck at a lady and her “magic wand” that helps with back pain.
Would Louie try it? All bets are off.
When Louis C.K. appeared on the January 2 premiere of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee season 3, he said that Louie would last “seven or eight years, tops.” While that doesn’t seem like much, this will only be the fourth season of Louie, so there’s still plenty of show left to come.
Louie season 4 will undoubtedly be just as delightfully weird as its three predecessors, and that’s certainly a good thing. The show has been one of the funniest, truest, most philosophical shows on TV, and that has led to it receiving enormous critical acclaim. The show took a year long hiatus, but it looks to be just as good as ever.
Louie season 4 will debut on May 5. The season will have 14 episodes, and two episodes will air each week for seven consecutive weeks.
