UPDATE: Read our recap of tonight’s shocking Game of Thrones!
It looks like long-awaited wedding bells will finally ring tonight when Game of Thrones season 4, episode 2 airs on HBO. The episode, titled “The Lion and the Rose,” will include the wedding of King Joffrey Lannister Baratheon, and Lady Margaery Tyrell. First arranged back in the finale of season 2, the royal wedding is certain to be an affair to remember.
The official synopsis for “The Lion and the Rose” indicates that, in addition to the wedding festivities, characters like Stannis, Bran, and Ramsay Snow will make their first appearance in season 4.
Tyrion lends Jaime a hand. Joffrey and Margaery host a breakfast. At Dragonstone, Stannis loses patience with Davos. Ramsay finds a purpose for his pet. North of the Wall, Bran sees where they must go.
On last week’s season premiere of Game of Thrones, Jaime and Tyrion struggled with hostility from Cersei and Shae, while Sansa accepted a gift from Dontos Hollard. Meanwhile the Dornish prince Oberyn Martell arrived in King’s Landing, with much more than a wedding on his mind. Up North, Jon faced the wrath of the Black Brothers as Ygritte and Tormund made friends with cannibalistic wildlings. Dany learned the price of her march to Meereen, and Arya recovered her sword Needle, avenged Lommy Greenhands, and got a new pony.
The preview for Game of Thrones season 4, episode 2 indicates that tonight’s episode will be every inch as intense as last week’s – if not more so.
