SNL has three back-to-back live shows coming up featuring some very recognizable names as hosts.
In a press release sent out this week, NBC announced three lineups of hosts and musical guests.
SNL returns live on March 29 with comedian Louis C.K. returning as host. Joining Louis will be musical guest Sam Smith, a U.K. based performer who will make his debut on SNL. Smith’s debut album In the Lonely Hour will be released this June.
Following on April 5 will be first-time host Anna Kendrick. Kendrick is an Academy Award nominated actress best known for her role in “Pitch Perfect.” She also had a radio hit with her song “Cups” from the same movie. Her next movie Happy Christmas will be out later this summer. Joining Kendrick as musical guest is 7-time Grammy Award winner Pharrell, who will be making his first appearance on SNL as a solo artist. Pharrell’s sophomore album, G I R L was released on March 3 and featured the Academy Award nominated song, “Happy,” from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack.
Lastly, on April 12, Seth Rogen will return to host SNL alongside musical guest Ed Sheeran. Sheeran’s performance will be the global television premiere of his first single from his upcoming second album, due out this summer.
