Frozen co-star Kristen Bell is interested in appearing in the musical adaptation in development for Broadway.
Speaking on Entertainment Weekly’s radio podcast, Bell expressed interest in bringing the wildly popular animated film to life on stage in New York. “I certainly hope that they try!” Bell said when asked if she’d like to be involved. “Everybody in Frozen is a Broadway veteran so I certainly hope they try and wrangle us.”
Bell knows what she’s talking about. Idina Menzel, who voices Elsa, is best known for her role in Wicked and is currently starring in If/Then on Broadway. Jonathan Groff is best known on stage for his roles in Spring Awakening and Hair.

Disney appears to be bullish about the idea of bringing a Frozen musical to life as soon as possible. They have already opened a website for the show, and Disney CEO Bob Iger says that the studio is “not demanding speed” in bringing it to the stage but is “demanding excellence.”
Would you prefer to see the voice cast on stage for ‘Frozen,’ or new actors?
In related news, Frozen hit DVD and Blu-ray this week and went on to sell 3.2 million copies in its first day. The film is still in theaters and as of yesterday has generated $1.032 billion at the worldwide box-office, making it the thirteenth highest-grossing film of all time. It is $30 million away from surpassing Toy Story 3, which currently holds the title of highest-grossing animated film of all time.
