Don Draper is arriving at an unknown location in the first Mad Men season 7 teaser trailer.
Released today by AMC, the Mad Men season 7 teaser shows our favorite ad man played by Jon Hamm stepping off a plane in slow motion, as Wax Tailor’s “Que Sera” plays in the background. The area he’s arriving at looks quite bright, and the skyline in the background doesn’t offer any clues. Our best guess is somewhere out west, given the weather and hints of moving west in season 6. Could it be Los Angeles?
“Mad Men takes off April 13,” the end title reads. Watch below:
Series creator Matt Weiner always keeps Mad Men secrets very close to the vest, so we can’t expect any details about the new season to be revealed until we’re watching this spring.
Mad Men’s seventh and final season will be split into two halves, beginning in April 2014 and April 2015 respectively. Despite the big gap between the two parts, all fourteen episodes are considered one season. AMC did this with Breaking Bad’s final season as well.
At the end of Mad Men season 6 we saw Don leave the firm he helped build. In interviews following the finale, Weiner said that Don has been in a bad place in recent episodes and the firm had to do something about his recent actions.
Season 7 will presumably see Don turn over a new leaf in his life – and maybe “take off” into a new level of satisfaction?
Today’s teaser may signal the beginning of promotional material for the final season, so expect more updates to land soon.
