The cast of Fantastic Four has been rumored for quite a while, but Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Miles Teller are reportedly set to star in the reboot.
While writer Simon Kinberg was recently brought on to partially rewrite the script for the Fantastic Four reboot, it seems Fox has finally settled on its stars.
Variety reports Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Miles Teller have finalized their contracts. Jordan has been cast as Johnny Storm, Mara as Sue Storm, Teller as Mr. Fantastic and Jamie Bell as The Thing.
Kate Mara is best known for her incredible work on Netflix’s Emmy award-winning series House of Cards. It’s been rumored that Michael B. Jordan was the only actor being looked at to play Johnny Storm (The Human Torch).
It may have helped Jordan that Josh Trank is directing the film, as they worked together when Trank directed Chronicle. The goal of the reboot is to reinvigorate the Fantastic Four franchise, and attempt to mirror the success of X-Men: First Class.
Miles Teller and Jordan were recently seen together in their film That Awkward Moment, which hit theaters back in January. This could have helped Teller land the role of Richards (Mr. Fantastic) since Jordan had been locked into the role of The Human Torch for some time.
Fox is certainly headed in the right direction by casting some of the top young actors in Hollywood, and we imagine Fox is looking to make this a major part of their portfolio for the next few years.
Once the studio gets the final script from Kinberg, we’re certain to see some lead casting announcements being officially confirmed by the studio as production dates are set.
No actors have been mentioned or even speculated about for the villain in the film, but now that the leads have been cast we’re sure we’ll start hearing rumors.
