A third lady from Pitch Perfect has signed on for its highly-anticipated sequel.
Brittany Snow will return for Pitch Perfect 2 in the role of Chloe. In the first film, the character was the nicer of the two Bellas leaders and has to begin singing in a lower tone after she gets her nodes removed.
Now with a big win under their belt, perhaps Chloe will help lead the Bellas through another competition. We can’t wait to see what new songs she’ll sing with her lower tessitura voice.
Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson are the other two actresses who have officially signed on to the project, but it’s safe to assume that nearly everyone will be back so long as their schedules make them available. Given the popularity of the blooming franchise, anyone who appeared in the first movie will want to be back for the second movie so they can see additional career boosts.
Elizabeth Banks, who had a supporting role in the original, will return to her a cappella tournament commentator role. She’ll also be directing the movie, in what will be the first time she helms a feature length film.
In a recent interview with Shape, Banks remained quiet about the new movie’s plot but teased what sort of themes you can expect. “I’ve been with the film from inception, so this time around it’s about taking on more responsibility, and bringing joyfulness, humor, and empowerment to the second installment.” She also said she won’t be partaking in a cappella singing because she isn’t a talented singer.
Pitch Perfect 2 opens in theaters May 15, 2015.
