Netflix has renewed House of Cards for season 3, just ten days before the show’s sophomore season premieres online.
Co-star Robin Wright was the first to confirm the news at a media day for the new season of House of Cards, and then representatives for the streaming service (including the show’s official Twitter account) confirmed the news.
Wright says that production on season 3 will begin soon. Presumably it will premiere around this time of year in 2015.
Fans grew concerned about the future of the political drama last year when an executive producer hinted in October that the second season may be its last.
House of Cards stars Kevin Spacey as Frank Underwood, a man who uses lies and well-manuevered strategies to ascend within the United States government. In season 2 we will see him in the role of the Vice President. Check out a trailer for the new episodes in our previous story, and see several new stills here.
