Girls and Looking avoid ratings race against Super Bowl XLVIII by moving their air date! Find out when to catch the HBO shows below!
The ratings monster that is the Super Bowl will surely trump any competing show that plans to air on Sunday, February 2. The HBO Original Series, Girls and Looking hope to avoid viewers sticking to the big game by airing both shows on Saturday, February 1.
The change will place Girls season 3, episode 5 “Only Child” to air at 10 p.m. ET and Looking season 1, episode 3 “Looking at Your Browser History” at 10:30 p.m. ET. Both episodes will re-air in their normal time slots again on Sunday, February 2.
So far this season, both Girls and Looking suffered the backlash of award season. The Girls season 3 premiere went up against the Golden Globe awards on January 12. This week, both shows battle The Grammy’s early entry into award season.
The change to Saturday next week may help the shows out, acting as a lead in to Saturday Night Live hosted by Melissa McCarthy and featuring musical guest Imagine Dragons.
This week, however, Girls and Looking are slated for their normal time slot and there is plenty to offer a break from LL Cool J’s Kangol hat!
‘Girls’ season 3, episode 4 ‘Deep Inside’
Hannah continues to explore Adam and Caroline’s relationship, while we finally gain a much anticipated look at what Jessa’s next few steps after rehab will be.
‘Looking’ season 1, episode 2 ‘Looking for Uncut’
Fresh off the freshman episode of the series, Looking‘s second episode picks up with the characters working through the fallout of their actions from last week. Patrick tests the water with his MUNI date, while Dom rekindles an old flame.
As an added bonus for HBO Go subscribers, the episodes affected by the Super Bowl will be available earlier than usual to stream with an account starting on Monday, January 27.
