Fox has announced that 24: Live Another Day will premiere on May 5 with a two-hour episode starring Kiefer Sutherland.
The highly-anticipated new 24 season titled Live Another Day will be set in London.
Back in October, showrunner Howard Gordon spoke about the new season and how Jack Bauer has grown. “The character has evolved through the years, and this new and exciting event series format is perfect to tell the next chapter of his story and continue to reflect how the world is changing,” he said. “Fans can rest assured that the Jack they know and love will be back.”
Speaking about the London location, Sutherland added, “But to be able to tell this intense 24-style story with the beauty of Europe’s history and architecture as the backdrop is going to be fascinating. Hopefully, by the time you’re finished watching an episode, you’ll feel like you’ve been there…on the edge of your seat.”
In addition to the announcement of 24: Live Another Day’s premiere date, we also learned this morning that Dexter actress Yvonne Strahovski has joined the cast to play Kate Morgan, a CIA operative in London.
Fox also announced this morning before their Television Critics Association event the air dates for two other shows. The family comedy Surviving Jack starring Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: SVU) will begin Thursday, March 27. The network’s new action-drama Gang Related will premiere Tuesday, May 20.
Finally, Fox has signed a multi-year deal with The Lonely Island to form a new “alternative comedy development venture.” Andy Samberg, who stars on their Golden Globe-winning comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, will be a part of the team developing “next-generation comedy series.”
