Lucy Hale’s new single “You Sound Good to Me” dropped on Monday. Are you ready for the starlet’s country album?
Pretty Little Liars star Hale plays the tormented teen Aria Montgomery on the hit and record-breaking ABC Family series. Hale’s first passion is music as seen by her new single “You Sound Good to Me.”
The single jumped to no. 2 on the country iTunes Charts and is the beginning of Hale’s leap into country stardom. Lucy Hale signed a record deal with Hollywood Records 18 months ago and has been working on her debut country album ever since, traveling to Nashville to write and record in between filming Pretty Little Liars.
It is unclear when exactly Hale’s debut album will drop, with Hale’s promise that it would follow sometime in 2014. Hale received her start in show business on the 2003 Fox series American Juniors where Hale was chosen as a member of the five member group. The group disbanded in 2005 and Hale is the most renowned of the contestants. Here’s one of her performances on American Juniors.
Hale then transitioned into acting and appeared in Drake & Josh, The O.C., How I Met Your Mother, and Private Practice, before landing a role on Privileged, which led to her starring role in Pretty Little Liars.
Hale has received accolades for her performance as Aria receiving four Teen Choice Awards, a Young Hollywood Award with the rest of the cast, a Gracie Allen Award, and a 2014 People’s Choice Award.
24-year-old Hale is originally from Memphis, Tennessee and credits her upbringing for her love of country.
Hale’s fellow cast members have also branched out from the ABC Family series with Ashley Benson starring in Spring Breakers, Troian Bellisario starring in the webseries Lauren, and Shay Mitchell starring in the short Immediately Afterlife.
Are you excited to hear Hale’s song and album? Do you think she should stick only to acting?
