Ryan Murphy wants to make Glee’s 100th episode a big spectacle. In addition to performing classic Glee hits for a second time, many “originals” are returning.
On Twitter yesterday, Murphy announced that “ALL the Glee originals received invites today to be in our 100th episode,” and since then he’s been able to confirm the involvement of Amber Riley (Mercedes), Mark Salling (Puck), Harry Shum Jr. (Mike), and Heather Morris (Brittany). Dianna Agron’s involvement has yet to be revealed, but Murphy has hinted that more announcements will be made soon – presumably as the stars confirm they want to appear.
Last week Fox announced Glee’s intention to perform songs that fans vote for. The poll to vote for songs opened up yesterday, December 3.
The network says the 100th episode will focus on “McKinley High’s latest batch of seniors as they approach graduation and reminisce about their most memorable moments, while singing new versions of these iconic tracks.”
It’ll be interesting to see how the old members of the show are brought back in. Perhaps Mr. Schuester will invite them back to offer some words of wisdom to those who are graduating?
All will be revealed in March when Glee’s 100th episode premieres on Fox.
Meanwhile, Glee season 5’s Christmas special airs tomorrow, December 5 at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific and is titled “Previously Unaired Christmas.” Check out our recap of “Puppet Master” to refresh yourself on the latest plot developments.
