Parks and Recreation returns tonight for two new episodes: “Filibuster” and “Recall Vote” at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
Parks and Recreation makes its triumphant return back to your television tonight for two new episodes after a three week long break. And by the looks of things, it’s coming back with the electoral drama hitting a fever pitch in Pawnee.
Tonight’s episodes, titled “Filibuster” and “Recall Vote” will feature conclusion of the recall election against Leslie and it’s fitting that they will end up airing back to back.
First up Leslie finds out that Councilman Jamm is trying to force a bill through in the dead of night and must leave Ben’s ’90s themed birthday party for a good old fashioned Indiana filibuster.
“Filibuster” also features the return of Andy from filming Guardians of the Galaxy running a charity in London. Thankfully he’s informed that Jerry’s name is now “Larry” fairly quickly.
Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany will also make her second appearance as Tom’s potential new girlfriend, Nadia. Despite doing his best to screw things up initially, Tom actually looks to be pretty smooth with the Doctor without Borders.
In the second half hour, aptly titled “Recall Vote,” Leslie must finally face down the recall vote she has been dreading since the season 5 finale. Thankfully, her friends, led by Ann and Ben, know exactly how to keep her distracted: by throwing a “Recalloween” (just go with it, it’s only two weeks late).
Erinn Hayes of Children’s Hospital will also guest star in the second episode as a Pawnee tastemaker who recognizes Ron’s brilliant woodcrafting.
It likely wasn’t intentional but it looks like Parks and Rec still somehow lined up its post-hiatus episodes to be as action-packed as possible.
