Supernatural has cast Psych favorite Tim Omundson for a season 9 role.
News first broke about Omundson’s casting via Twitter when the actor confirmed that he will be on the show:

“@LazyDaizy26: OMG DO NOT TEASE, TIM. PLEASE SAY YOU BEING ON SPN IS TRUE!!” TRUE. Mr. @rthompson1138 has written me a hell of a role.

As if this news couldn’t get any more exciting, E! Online reveals that Omundson will be playing none other than Cain of Cain and Abel.
This news comes on the heels of the reveal that Supernatural would be introducing a retired demon who used to train the Knights of Hell.
This demon — Cain, as you may have guessed — was known as the Father of Murder, though he quit his wicked ways for love. However, E! hints that Cain, who will be introduced in an episode titled “First Born,” may be sticking around for a while to complicate things.
Considering Supernatural‘s love of brotherly stories, the Cain and Abel tale is an obvious choice. However, Supernatural always puts a unique spin on popular lore, so we’ll be curious to see how the writers spin the Biblical story.
In the hands of fan favorite writer Robbie Thompson, though, it’s bound to be good.
Supernatural airs Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
