A group of young adults have found Britney Spears’ music so empowering that they made an opera out of her work.

SPEARS is “an original musical that chronicles the life of Jesus Christ, telling the story through the hit music of Britney Spears,” according to the production’s official website. After a debut in April 2012 at Columbia University, the show will arrive in Manhattan for two performances on November 7. Tickets are only available to those who are interested in investing in the show, as the producers wish to bring the show to Broadway full time.

A press release states that SPEARS “tugs at the heartstrings of America’s lost twenty-somethings, calling on familiar hits such as ‘Stronger,’ ‘One More Time,’ and ‘Crazy,’ to describe the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.” Every word of the show is sung which makes it an opera.

The show’s official website shares a couple photos from SPEARS past performances and has messages from its creator and musical director. “I urge you to please watch our show to understand how these two supposedly ‘opposing’ worlds can collide,” pleads creator Pat Blute who wouldn’t need to try hard to convince Spears fans to give the show a chance.

Spears herself is in the middle of building anticipation around the release of her eighth studio album Britney Jean. The cover was released last week and so far the only song we’ve heard off the album is “Work Bitch.” A track list has yet to be revealed.

Perhaps those who are interested in investing in the show will be motivated by the popularity of Britney, who’s still able to nab a lot of attention after all these years as we approach Britney Jeans’s December release.

The pop culture superstar will be putting on a musical of her own in the form of a Las Vegas residency beginning in December at Planet Hollywood.

Britney Spear’s music narrating the life of Jesus? I fail to see how this would be any good whatsoever. Or how the two relate to each other at all. T
