Lena Dunham has larger plans for Andrew Rannells’ Girls role should the show be renewed for a fourth season by HBO.
The actor is expected to be promoted to a series regular – meaning he’d appear in nearly all episodes of season 4 – if HBO orders another run, according to a report from Deadline. The openly gay actor has already shot episodes of season 3 for a recurring role which we’ll see when the show premieres next year.
HBO usually waits to renew a show until the newest season begins airing, so we won’t hear about Girls season 4 until January at the very earliest. The dramedy is likely to be renewed thanks to good word of mouth and relatable dialogue.
Girls season 3 premieres Sunday, January 12 with two all-new episodes. The season has an expanded 12-episode order (up from ten for the previous two seasons). If you can’t wait until then, watch a great preview in which Dunham and her co-stars discuss what to expect from each of their characters this winter:
One week later on January, HBO’s new drama Looking following gay men in San Francisco premieres.
Thanks, Deadline.
