Viewers of tonight’s World Series game on Fox were treated to the final Catching Fire trailer, and now it’s online for your viewing pleasure!

Lionsgate placed the trailer during Game 4 of the World Series pitting the Boston Red Sox versus the St. Louis Cardinals to reach an older audience who loves major sporting events. In the real world, the World Series is as exciting a competition as the Hunger Games tournaments.

Watch the final Catching Fire trailer in which we see several new scenes. Interestingly, the studio opted to share footage from the game itself – something they haven’t done to promote either Hunger Games movie (save for the first film’s simple teaser trailer). Footage from the games includes glimpses of the monkeys and Jabberjays:

The highly-anticipated Hunger Games sequel stars Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss), Josh Hutcherson (Peeta), Liam Hemsworth (Gale), Sam Claflin (Finnick), and Jena Malone (Johanna). It is directed by Francis Lawrence, who will also helm the two Mockingjay movies for their theatrical debuts in November 2014 and November 2015.

Visually speaking the film looks to be a major step up over The Hunger Games directed by Gary Ross. Those who see Catching Fire in IMAX will enjoy scenes filmed with an IMAX camera starting when Katniss enters the Hunger Games tournament. The screen will open up into a wider view just as Katniss says goodbye to Cinna. “That is such an incredible moment to choose to go into IMAX because she’s kind of seeing this new world,” said Jennifer Lawrence in a recent interview.

  • Cassie Drake

OMG! That looks so fucking intense and terrifying! O____O

I LOVE IT! I love it cuz I’ve read the books and I know what’s going to happen, but man, people who haven’t read the books??? THAT SHIT IS REAL.

  • Donna

I cannot believe they showed so much arena, but the stuff they showed looks amazing. The mist, the monkeys, the invisible wall…I think this movie looks like it’s doing the book justice.

    • Donna

I’m not mad they showed the arena stuff, for the record. Just surprised to see so much, and really excited for what I saw!

      • Megan Gianniny

        I was happily surprised too!

      • Jack Bauer

Ya arena looks great clearly the producers have faith in this movie and are gonna try and crack 200 million opening. To do that you got to show the action in the arena. Plus shut up the people who never read the books and think this is a carbon copy of the first movie.

    • Liderc

the trailer was 1 minute..how could they show “so much” lol.

      • Caitlin Bauer

People were expecting them to not reveal the Quarter Quell twist in the trailers, and once it was revealed, people were not expecting the arena to be shown. The fact that many elements of the arena were shown, even if they were only for split seconds each, is what I believe Donna is referring to (please correct me if I’m wrong)

        • Ellie

I can’t recall back to original Hunger Games trailers. Did they show the arena in those? In my mind they didn’t which is why it’s surprising they’re showing it this time.

          • Kris D

they didnt show the arena scenes until after the movie was in theaters for Hunger Games

          • Caitlin Bauer

They showed a couple brief flashes of Katniss running away from the fire in the woods, but other than that, the trailers didn’t show anything past the countdown at the Cornucopia

        • Donna

Caitlin, yes! That’s what I meant. I wasn’t expecting for them to reveal things (I think they only terror they didn’t show was the lightening and the blood rain!) from the arena. As soon as I saw the trailer start and katniss going up that tree, I gasped. My husband thought I was nuts and laughed at me. By the end of the trailer I was like “What did I just see?!”–in a good way! I was excited before, but I am REALLY excited now. It makes me excited for the continuity of the director through Mockingjay as well. I think he is going to make great films.

    • Zack

I know!! Peeta screaming “It’s not real!”

      • Christine Rogers

Which is a nice tie-in and foreshadowing, really.

    • Kris D

it was a pleasant surprise b/c i thought they were going to do the same thing that they did with Hunger Games and not show arena stuff until after the movie was released. but i was soo excited when i saw it. the end of the trailer with peeta, katniss, and the jabberjays…omg…i was freaking out. it looks AMAZING!

  • jose810

the scenes where she is being tormented by the mocking jays look so well done and intense

    • Veronica

I totally agree! The look on Peeta’s face, and her meltdown… I enjoyed the whole trailer, and I’m looking forward to seeing the rest!

    • jose8180

i meant jabber jays not mocking jays

  • jose8180

    i mean jabber jays

  • Michael

OMG!!!! That was INCREDIBLE!! Words cannot describe how im feeling right now! OMG!! They showed so much (I didn’t think this would). November 22nd can’t come soon enough!

    • Michael

you can even see them running with mags on finnick’s back. The cornucopia for this one looks amazing, its so cool. The games actually look terrifying

  • Ultron

    So many goosebumps. Everywhere.

  • Sophiesquirels

AHHH JUMPING , mist monkeys jaberjays arena so intense all that sreaming and not just mine

  • jose8180

i didnt even notice the locket until the third viewing

    • Kris D

where was the locket? do you have a timeframe in the trailer??

      • Tiana

They show it at the :48 second mark.

  • Jonathan A. Rivera Santiago

the monkeys, the mist, jabberjays! katniss *Fan girl Scream*

  • Riana-Tiana Menezes

    • Josh

I don’t think they want to the viewer to know Finnick is an ally to Katniss and Peeta in the arena..

    • Karin

You can see Finnick carry Mags at 0,47

  • discotia

Love that the music featured here is an amped up version of Rue’s Lullaby! Must be from the score, which is awesome!!

  • Riana-Tiana Menezes

I wasn’t emotionally prepared for THAT

  • Liderc

    Man, Jlaw looking hot.

  • Maria Wang

    yayyy!! Im so excited!

  • dillonmays

    I smell awards coming.

And my heart is racing in excitement. This is amazing. And Katniss at the end.

  • Jaz

What a well executed minute and seven second, wow soooooooo fricken impressed.
I feel like they showed a lot but very tastefully that leaves me wanting MORE!!! Well done!

  • Oh My Rowling!

But of course everyone, still no Finnick.

Oh damn, Jennifer Lawerance, I think you just broke my soul.

    • HBT

Just gotta tell you, I love your username :)

      • Oh My Rowling!

Lauren Lopez is my spirit animal :D

  • Miniryu-Ninja

God im sooooo EXCITED! Surprised they showed the games themselves and slightly annoyed at myself for watching it but i was never not going to so im glad it at least wasn’t overly exposing!

  • alexa

  • andrew14

  • http://ravenclaw1991.tumblr.com/ ravenclaw1991

THOSE MONKEYS. Oh my god, they’re freaky! A part of me didn’t really want to see that much of the arena, but I’m not going to complain. It looks amazing!

  • HBT

I can’t get over how gorgeous they both look in the chariot.

  • Allison L.

out of curiosity, is there any chance of you guys doing screenshots for it?! (like i vaguely remember happening for HP trailers)

    • Amir

Hyable did it for the first hunger games trailer too

  • Caroline J.

holy SH** the mist, the monkeys, and the jabberjays…. ACTUALLY TERRIFYING

  • au81

It looks incredible!!!! So exciting idk how I can wait another month..

  • Kevin Landeen

This is THE BEST trailer I have EVER seen! Absolutely amazing!

  • WhatTheGrace

    Absolutely stunning!

  • Mel

Has anyone seen the new commercial with the part where she comforts Gale on the table?!

    • Riana-Tiana Menezes

      I just saw it!

  • frezb

I believe Sam Claflin plays Finnick. :)

  • http://abbyreyes.com/ Abby

It’s crazy because those things — the monkeys, the invisible wall, the birds, the smoke — they mean nothing to people who haven’t read the book. But to us… UGH. So many feels.

  • Lotte

I have to be honest and say I was one of those very disappointed with
the first movie. But this trailer looks actually very good. Maybe I will after all check out the second movie.

  • Cguy

Wow, this looks fucking incredible! Whatever little faith I had in Francis Lawrence before this, it’s fully restored now. Can’t wait till November 22!

  • molly

Sam does not play Peeta….. come on

  • Hannah Howden

Anyone else see Peeta’s face when Katniss crashed into the barrier when she was hearing Prim’s voice? Or her face after she realised what was happening? Brilliant!

  • Fahad

oh god!! its so intense and emotional at the same time…!!

btw.. did u guys notice the scene where people r shouting … if you look in the background there are banners of marvel and clove (i guess dats them…) … so it means this movie is going to cover other districts in the victory tour as well in a less but detailed way… thats awesum!!

  • SlytherinFromDistrictFour

That was perfect! It was EXACTLY how I imagined it would be! Catching Fire is going tp turn out amazing! I can’t wait to see Finnick for the first time and Katniss and Peeta all over again!! <3

  • Sheechiibii

I can’t believe they showed Peeta in the arena! That’s such a spoiler. I know people who haven’t read the books who thought it would be Haymitch.

    Otherwise – chills man! CHILLS

    • Migs

They showed Peeta at the Training Center in the earlier trailers, so I guess people already know he’s back in the games as well. Also, the promotional photos already gave hints to those who haven’t read it.

      • Sheechiibii

I didn’t realise he was in earlier trailers. As for the promo photos, I wasn’t so bothered by them, because not as many people see them as see trailers.

    • Ultron

Was it even explained in the first movie that Haymitch was a past victor? I don’t recall. But surely they can deduce that if haymitch was picked, peeta would’ve volunteered.

      • Sheechiibii

I think so. I can’t really remember but my friend knew he was a past victor and he hasn’t read the books. And the same could be said for Haymitch, if Peeta was picked he was going to volunteer.

        • Ultron

That is true. Can you deny a volunteer if you really want to go into the hunger games? I don’t remember that being discussed in the book.

          • Sheechiibii

No you can’t. If you’re chosen and someone volunteers you can’t go in. Because Haymitch was going to volunteer if Peeta was picked, but because he was picked there was nothing he could do.

  • Sophiesquirels

I wish hypable would do a roundup of all the tv spots Its just difficult to catch and find them all on youtube

  • Tribute 12

I wasn’t expecting so much footage from the arena but the producers know what they are doing. I guess, in order to get the average movie-goer’s attention they have to make it appear DIFFERENT than the first movie (more action, more drama etc) and this was a perfect way of doing so,

  • awkwardjenny

Amazing! I know they probably wanted to keep it Katniss-centered, but it would have been nice to see some of the other tributes in the arena. It made it look like they were only facing dangers from “nature,” while leaving out that by the way- a bunch of experienced killers are also out there hunting them down!

  • Bernardo Triana

    Pure epicness

  • Nicholas

If this is going to be “The Dark Knight” of the series, then the next film needs to be “The Dark Knight Rises” of it’s series. I even have a good plot synopsis for what it would be like.
After the events of Catching Fire, the flames of war between the 12 Districts and the Capitol led by President Snow continue to brew in the nation of Panem. That is until a former competitor of the Hunger Games named “The Savior” returns and unleashes a plot of mass destruction on all of Panem out of vengeance for what was done to him. With Panem over seized and under the wrath of an unspeakable evil, all will look up to Katniss as the last hope to defeat him. But he is a foe more powerful than any she has ever faced, which will put her on a journey that will test her strength, her heart, and her will to survive. But even if she endures this journey, the Girl on Fire may be no match for “The Savior”.

    • Riana-Tiana Menezes

Just curious but have you read Mockingjay?

  • Cindra Lawson

Loved the trailer but wish they’d have given us a scene with Finnick in it instead of focusing on the arena or showing us more of what we’d gotten a glimpse of already?

  • Amalia

Katniss’s expression in the chariot gave me chills. Exactly how I imagined it in the book. I love actors who can express that much in just one second.

  • HK1

    Music anyone?

  • Amanda Douglas

Francis Lawrence is ruining me with these trailers that end with Katniss in tears.

  • Sydne

That last part is the shining moment. Katniss’ agony and Peeta trying to tell her it’s okay…. I CAN’T.
