The CW has released the synopsis for Supernatural season 9, episode 6, titled “Heaven Can’t Wait.”
The official press release had the following information about the episode:
CASTIEL GETS A JOB — Castiel (Misha Collins) gets a job at a Gas-N-Sip and actually starts to enjoy life as a human. A headline in the local newspaper about some disappearances in the area catches his eye, so he calls Dean (Jensen Ackles) to help him investigate the case. Dean knows he needs to keep Sam/Ezekiel (Jared Padaleck) away from Castiel, so he tells Sam that he and Kevin (guest star Osric Chau) need to stay and work with Crowley to decipher the tablet. Crowley agrees to help Sam and Kevin but in return he wants one phone call to hell. Rob Spera directed the episode written by Robert Berens (907).
In “I’m No Angel,” Dean and Sam rescued Castiel from Reapers hired by a faction of angels to find him. However, once they brought their friend back to the Men of Letters bunker, Ezekiel told Dean that Castiel would bring the angels down upon them, apparently putting Ezekiel himself in danger.
As a result, Zeke gave Dean an ultimatum: If Cas stays, Ezekiel leaves, condemning Sam to death. Dean then told the newly-human Castiel that he could not stay in bunker. It looks like this episode will give us some insight into what has been happening with Cas since Dean told him to leave.
This will be Robert Berens’s first episode as a writer for Supernatural. He previously worked with fellow Supernatural writers Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder on the canceled CW series Ringer, which the latter two created.
Supernatural season 9, episode 6 “Heaven Can’t Wait” airs Tuesday, November 12 at 9:00 p.m. ET on The CW.
