A new trailer for Disney’s Frozen has been released and offers one of the best looks yet at the storyline for the upcoming animated film.

Though a trailer for Frozen debuted just two weeks ago, this second one places more of a focus on the events that take place due to a mistake by Elsa (Idina Menzel). The song playing underneath the trailer is “First Time in Forever” and is original to the movie.

Frozen looks better and better with every preview, and we’re particularly fond of the humor from Olaf (voiced by Josh Gad) in this latest trailer. Will you see it in theaters this Thanksgiving?

In case that’s not enough for you, last night during Pixar’s first television special Toy Story of Terror a Halloween-themed Frozen commercial aired:

Frozen hits theaters November 27 and is the first animated film from Disney since last year’s runaway hit Wreck-it Ralph. The winter-themed movie stars Kristen Bell voicing Anna, Idina Menzel as Elsa, and Jonathan Groff as Kristoff.

Reads the official synopsis, “Fearless optimist Anna sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.”

“The greatest Disney animated event, since The Lion King”

    Umm, no preassure guys.

Ya what about Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Lilo and Stitch, Tinkerbell and Tangled just to name a few?
(Ya I just looked that up)

Apparently Disney doesn’t consider those to be great animated events. :(

        • Carilyn

Well, to put it in perspective, The Lion King is the second-highest grossing animated film OF ALL TIME. So, I’m not sure I can blame Disney for regarding it that way, although they’re putting an awful lot of pressure.

Ironically, according to the documentary “Waking Sleeping Beauty,” it was Pocahontas and not the Lion King that was expected to be very successful. While I don’t think Frozen will falter like Pocahontas, comparing it to Lion King is… huge

          • Charlie

Yeah, Pocahontas was pretty much supposed to be Oscar bait.

          • Riana-Tiana Menezes

            Why wasn’t it though?

          • Carilyn

Technically, Lion King and Pocahontas won the same number of awards, but Pocahontas was also only nominated for two. Lion King, in comparison, had *four* nominations and won two.
I think the reason is that Disney tried, with Pocahontas, to tackle a historical event with real people, while also channeling some “Romeo and Juliet” and fantasy into the story. That, along with its portrayal of Native Americans, garnered a lot of controversy, though personally I think a lot of it was undeserved.

          • Charlie

In addition to what Carilyn said, during production Pocahontas was seen as the more prestigious project, so a lot of animators chose it over The Lion King.

But in the end I think The Lion King ended up being the film people have better memories of. A lot of songs and scenes from that movie have become iconic in their own right (Mufasa’s ghost appearing in the sky, Hakuna Matata, The Circle of Life, Simba being held aloft…), and Disney have even made a stage show out of it, as well as rereleased it in 3D.

It also doesn’t help that Pocahontas was released a few months before Toy Story.

I wouldn’t say Tinkerbell…Those don’t even come out in theaters, they go straight to dvd.

    • S.J.

Umm excuse me Disney!!! Mulan was AMAZING!

    • missxsteph21

I don’t think they literally meant it. Disney knows that Mulan, Tarzan and Tangled were all up there with The Lion King.

      • Alissa Roy

I think that Disney recognizes all of these films as being awesome, The Lion King is just recognizable, and something that everyone has heard of or watched at some point in time, so it is just good for marketing.

        • missxsteph21

Oh I agree with you. I just didn’t like everyone getting upset by it.

    • Plat

      It’s called marketing.

  • Elphaba Thropp

Thank goodness for this trailer. The last one made so little sense, I was under the impression that they were just traveling around some snowy place to find her sister that randomly decided to curse the kingdom. I actually UNDERSTAND this one.

  • Merina

At last, a trailer with some real PLOT to it! And oh my gosh, Elsa makes my heart break and the movie’s not even out yet…

  • Ultron

This actually looks really good now! The last trailer was not too great but this one was great

  • missxsteph21

I loved this trailer and I’m so excited to see the movie.

  • Delena

Fond of Olaf’s humor? No thanks. I’m sick of the “omg so random” characters…

    • heather

thank god i’m not the only one

    • http://kathryynmerteuil.tumblr.com/ Sasha

Yeah, I can’t understand why Disney is marketing him so hard. Just imagine if Princess & the Frog had been advertised with the firefly in the same way (who, to be fair, wasn’t actually that annoying in the film).

Oh and hey, on a kind of completely different note, the snow monster’s name is Marshmallow. This is a Veronica Mars reference and you aren’t gonna convince me otherwise.

  • Ellie

    A plot! What?
This actually looks pretty rad. If the snowman was dead, I think I would be super stoked.
(Though “You hesitated” actually got a mild sniff of amusement)

  • Ande Anderson

GUYS!!!! I’m so freakin excited for this movie!!!

  • Hannah Howden

    “Does it…look bad?”
    “You hesitated.”

  • Plat

Ok, NOW this movie looks good. Such a much better trailer.

  • Cat

Disney is the best and you ain’t ever gonna convince me otherwise :)

  • Rebecca Fritch

the new trailer definitely made me feel better about the movie! before, i had absolutely no idea what it was about. and i’m glad that there’s an actual reason for having a talking snowman, because that seemed a bit odd before.

    give it the OSCAR

  • Boo

This movie really fucking sucked. It was jammed with pop songs, the plot was predictable, the jokes were tired, and the characters were generally just not charming. Overrated piece of crap.
