Tonight, Fox airs its Glee Cory Monteith tribute (season 5, episode 3 “The Quarterback”) which will leave Gleeks reaching for the tissues right off the bat.
The special episode reportedly opens up with the cast performing Rent’s “Seasons of Love” before tackling the tough issue of saying goodbye to a character, actor, and friend. Series creator Ryan Murphy says that the episode does not directly take on what killed Finn/Cory and instead will focus on paying tribute to the character. In a separate interview he has said that the character of Rachel will struggle with the loss of her on-screen boyfriend throughout season 5.
