Showtime has created a great documentary examining at the fictional bombing that took place during the Homeland season 2 finale on December 12, 2012.
The documentary was designed as if you were living within the fictional Homeland world and wanted to learn more about the bombing that took place under Carrie and Saul’s watch. It’s essentially a promotional featurette for Homeland season 3. The upcoming, highly-anticipated season will focus on the aftermath of the attack and who’s to blame.
The documentary begins by recapping what occurred on 12/12/12 and notes that it has been 60 days since the terrorist attack. The narrator says that despite two months having passed, there are still many questions about why it happened.
Interview subjects in the documentary are characters who we haven’t been introduced to in the show. They include Lulu Potter, a contract worker who was at the building the day the bombing occurred. It also talks about Brody and his potential involvement.
In the upcoming Homeland season episodes, Carrie and Saul will be on trial so that the government can get to the bottom of why the bombing occurred.
Homeland season 3 premieres this Sunday, September 29 on Showtime at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific. If you can’t wait, be sure to check out spoiler-free photos from episode 1.
