Rounding out a series of reveals, Bloomsbury U.K. has unleashed the new cover for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Adult Edition.

The cover takes on a green and orange theme with Voldemort’s huge snake Nagini. The creature plays a pivotal role towards the end of the story as one of the Dark Lord’s Horcruxes.

Check it out below:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Adult UK new cover

We’re surprised to see that Bloomsbury decided to go with Nagini, who is certainly not one of the major players or part of major scenes in the story line, even though she does have her time to shine (er, die).

All said and done, the U.K. publisher of the Harry Potter series opted to not use any humans on the covers. They used, in respective order, the Hogwarts Express, Hogwarts and the Whomping Willow, Buckbeak, the Hungarian Horntail, Harry’s Patronus and a Dementor, the Astronomy Tower, and finally Nagini.

We’ve rounded up all of the posters below so you can see what they look like as a complete set. Having seen physical copies and considering we’re attracted to the usage of vibrant colors (just look at Hypable!), we have to admit we really like this new set.

The colours and text placement. No matter how many times I see these books that’s all I can think about.

  • Dobbythefreeelf

The OOTP one is my favourite.. but I wish they’d used the final battle as the book cover instead of Nagini..

  • Me

I really like Philosopher’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets.

  • Winkyxx

I miss hearing news about Harry Potter. Not about book covers, but real Potter! I miss those days :(

  • Brittany Marczak

They’re just so eye-catching. I’ve been wanting a UK set of books, and I’m very sure I’m going to buy these.

I like OOTP, HBP and DH…. Can’t really pick which I like more out of those three.

  • Ultron

Nagini looks more like a basilisk..She’s huge

  • Mario Lujan

What do you mean she’s not a part of any major scenes in the story? Did you forget Godric’s Hollow?

    • Simone

Or the fact that she’s a horcrux? hehe.

  • Jack

I think the colors and text placement are excellent but I wish the artwork was more prominent on some of them. It was hard for me to make out what COS and HBP were depicting.

  • Ailbhe

I didn’t really like any of these covers until I saw them in shops – they’re just gorgeous, and very modern. They’re definitely not as adult as the original UK adult versions but that’s not really a problem for me :) My favourites are definitely PS and HBP!

These are pretty damn cool looking.

  • Riley Peek

I think Nagini’s very indicative of Voldemort himself, and that may be why Bloomsbury chose her as the object of the cover’s focus. I don’t think the decision actually had much to do with her role in the story (one may argue Fawkes, Buckbeak, and the Hungarian Horntail weren’t major players, yet they still made the covers).

  • Cguy

Looks better than the US covers, at least.

  • Emily Bryan

This looks like it should have been the cover of COS than Deathly Hallows xD it’s definitely not a bad cover. I like these, honestly. Maybe it’s because I’m biased to bright/bold colors.

  • TheOscarRP

Still not digging 1-4 (which was were I’d left off). But now I’ve seen 5-7, I gotta say I really like them! Perhaps it’s the shift of matureness in the last books, but those last covers really do fit and they look amazing.

  • Meghan Carlisle

Philosopher’s Stone is the one I like best, but I really think they’re all well done.

  • lorepottter

I would say Half-Blood Prince, because the image in the cover is one of the most powerful escenes in the series, the war is finally starting and Dumbledore is dead.

  • GinnyWeasley002

    Philosopher’s Stone is my favorite.

  • Amir Khan

Yeah am I the only one that thinks these are kinda UGLY? I mean the art is beautiful but the colors just ruin them. Honesty I saw the new U.S. books at half price books and they look a lot better in person… well I live in the us so I can’t see these covers in person. But I don’t like these.

    • DolphinPatronus

no you are not the only one but i don’t like the new US covers either

  • xiku

Deathly Hallows looks like the cover for Chamber Of Secrets… Out of all the scenes in the book, I think they should’ve chosen a more iconic one…

  • Jill

Half Blood Prince is my favorite cover.

  • Thomas Diehl

These are the most un-Harry-Potter book covers I’ve seen for some time. Did any of those cover designers read the books to get an idea of their tone and feel?

    • Amir Khan

      Ikr

  • Meghan

Why the stag for OotP? And Nagini looks amazing!

  • siriusly

I want these in posters! They’d look wicked sweet in an English classroom or something!

  • Mrs_Badcrumble

These look pretty cool, and in print they must be even better. Specially all together.
