The exact details of The Legend of Korra season 2 release date were officially announced today, bringing the long, un-bendable wait to an end!

The Legend of Korra season 2 release will be Friday, Sept. 13 at 7 pm, actor PJ Byrne (Bolin) told us Thursday.

In addition to the thrilling announcement, Yahoo! unveiled a new trailer for The Legend of Korra season 2:

Though the official panel at San Diego Comic-Con revealed the news that The Legend of Korra season 2 (entitled ‘Book 2: Spirits’) would debut in September, no specific release date was announced at that time. The show’s first season officially aired from April through June of last year, and ever since, devoted fans have (sometimes literally) been waiting on the edge of their seats for the Legend of Korra season 2 release date.

The Legend of Korra season 2 promises not to disappoint. A trailer for the season was released at San Diego Comic-Con, and contains so many exciting elements (Desperate battles! Communion with past Avatars! Waterfall slides!) that it’s hard to decide which part makes us most excited.

The Legend of Korra season 2 will also introduce several intriguing new characters to Korra’s world. Fans will meet Korra’s extended family for the first time, which includes her imperious uncle Unalaq and impassive twin cousins Desna and Eska. In addition, a specially-designed flashback episode will introduce fans to Wan, the very first Avatar, who will be voiced by Steven Yuen of The Walking Dead.

Sept. 13 isn’t far off now, but if you just can’t wait for the official Legend of Korra season 2 release date to be upon us, check out our recap of the premiere episode “Rebel Spirit,” which also aired at Comic-Con!

In the meantime, be sure to stay tuned to Hypable for all of the latest Legend of Korra news… and a very exciting Avatar celebration coming up very soon!

Will you be watching ‘The Legend of Korra’ on Sept. 13?

First I saw the movie, then after 4 years (has it even been that long? feels like it) of thinking this series sucked. I gave the old seasons a shot, and my god was it good.
This series is a worthy successor. At first, I did not like the more “bone-y” direction of the art-style. And I still find the sharp edges on hair (Korras pony-tail, and tensen’s beard to name the most obvious offenders).
But as a whole, I am impressed by the story, the setting, the evolution of the history, the care and finess used in creating a series that is not impeeded by my personal dislike for anime, it overthrows all my preconcied dislikes and makes me hungry for more.
Sadly, it looks like it will be hard to get this show without resorting to atleast partial pirating. So sad when there is no viable option. If anyone got one, please inform me. I am a scandinavian, and thus my netflix and other pay-to-watch options all lagg about 2 to 4 years behind eztv.it

if your willing to pay. Itunes had the episodes, of the first season, up at least two to three days after it aired. I imagine they’ll do the same for this season. You don’t have to have an apple product to use Itunes so i usually buy the season pass and download them.
