Eminem doesn’t tour often, and getting a good seat at one of his concerts is rare. But tomorrow night, the entire world will have a chance to see him perform live in New York City.
Update: G-Shock has recently added a disclaimer to their posts on Facebook that Eminem’s part of the anniversary celebration will not be streamed.
According to a press release from G-Shock, a watch company, Eminem will be helping them celebrate their 30 year anniversary. Together, they’ll be unveiling a limited edition watch at the event, which will be held August 7, at 8 p.m. EST, in Manhattan at their annual Shock the World event.
The watch, according to the press release, will be available in December. “[It] takes the newly-revamped XL-6900 watch face and personalizes it with Eminem iconology for a watch that is not only ruggedly functional, but also stylishly streetwise,” the release says. The men’s watch will cost $180.
Eminem is an avid watch collector and a fan of G-Shock, which he wears in many of his music videos. In celebration, he will be giving an exclusive concert at the event, which will stream live at this link.
Eminem is set to release a new album sometime later this year. The release date is currently unknown, but rumors have it pegged to debut somewhere around Labor Day weekend. The title of his eighth studio album has also not been announced.
There’s no word yet whether Eminem will perform any of his new songs at this event, though a few of his classics are sure to be present. He’s been working on this album for some time now, so it’s quite possible that we could be hearing the world premiere of one of his singles.
Critical reception of his previous album, Recovery, was mostly positive, and fans of Eminem’s new sound and attitude are sure to be looking forward to his latest album.
