Those excited for the PlayStation 4’s release will be happy to hear that there are many games in development for the next-gen console, as was stated at San Diego Comic-Con 2013.
Hypable had the exclusive opportunity to speak to Sony PR Manager Aram Jabbari about what the PS4 will have to offer players.
“We have over 100 games in development [for the PS4] that are scheduled to come out within a year of launch,” said Jabbari.
Some of these games will include Killzone: Shadow Fall and Ubisoft’s Watch_Dogs. “We’re excited that we have huge triple-A games: Killzone: Shadow Fall, Watch_Dogs. We’re also excited for the independent developers.”
Continuing in talking about the latest Killzone game, and how it will integrate with the PS4 DualShock’s touchpad, Jabbari said
In ‘Killzone: Shadow Fall’, your OWL drone can have four different primary attacks or actions mapped to it. One is a shield, one is an attack, one is a stun and your zipline, which you’ll use a lot; and you can use it by swiping in any of the four directions on the touchpad. It’s very intuitive, and then you press one of the triggers and you’re good to go.
When asked about one of the biggest franchises coming to the PlayStation 3, Jabbari brought up Quantic Dream’s star studded Beyond: Two Souls, which stars Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe. “We’re so excited that we can have huge stars in a Sony published game. Knowing the kind of experience that people got in Heavy Rain, basically this interactive, cinematic, high-drama and highly immersive narrative experience, it’s so cool that we can have those stars in our game.”
Jabbari was eager to express Sony’s strong interest in revolutionizing the way gamers play games on the PlayStation 4. “The PS4 is exceptionally powerful, exceptionally easy to develop for and incredibly socially interconnected, allowing gamers to interact with each other in new ways. We think it’s going to change the way people play games.”
The PlayStation 4 is currently available for pre-order, and will release in November.
