The Veronica Mars Movie is officially going to Comic-Con and has announced that Justin Long will be joining the Warner Bros. film cast.

Hypable previously announced that The Veronica Mars Movie had planned to go to Comic-Con and host a panel and a fan event. It was officially confirmed by the film’s Twitter account today. Friday July 19 has been set as the day for both events.

Are you going to Comic-Con? What panels are you excited to see?

In other Veronica Mars news, EOnline broke the news that Justin Long will appear in the Kickstarter film. Long did not appear in the UPN and CW series, but has been spotted on set and his involvement has been confirmed.

It is unclear if Long will play a former 09er or a current resident of Neptune. Other famous celebrities who are appearing include Martin Starr, which Hypable announced earlier this week, as well as Kyrsten Ritter and Max Greenfield.

Executive producer Rob Thomas said more cast announcements are to come and that a special website will be set up for Kickstarter donors in order to ensure that donors are getting the first look at information. How do you think the Kickstarter campaign has done so far in reaching out to donors?

Veronica Mars is currently filming in Los Angeles and will be released in early 2014.
