The first trailer for Disney’s next animated movie Frozen has been released!

Frozen’s trailer doesn’t appear to offer glimpses into the storyline but appears to hint at the humor we can expect to find in the movie.

In the Frozen trailer, we see reindeer Sven and snowman Olaf compete for a carrot while grasping for control on an icy lake. The end of the tease has a couple of cute surprises, but it reminded us of the trailer for Ice Age: Continental Drift in which the squirrel is trying to protect his nut.

Although they don’t appear in this trailer, Frozen has an all-star cast including Kristen Bell voicing “fearless optimist” Anna, Jonathan Groff portraying “mountain man” Kristoff, and Idina Menzel who’s voicing Anna’s sister Elsa. Presumably the next trailer will include glimpses into the story. For now, this Frozen trailer is all about giving kids a heads up to look forward to some new cartoons on the big screen later this year.

In Frozen, Anna and Kristoff head out to find Elsa because her “icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter,” says the official synopsis. “Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.”

Bell, Groff, and Menzel also posses great vocal power, so expect a couple of songs within Frozen too.

Frozen opens in theaters November 27, 2013. You can see the teaser trailer above in theaters this Friday with Disney’s Monsters University.

Well that didn’t show anything. And if we’re gonna talk about characters in the ice trying to get food and failing well… Ice Age did it years and years ago with Scrat.

  • Zula

    Weirdest trailer ever…

HA i totally LOLed at the ending of that.

this was majorly disappointing. I was hoping for a trailer that revealed some characters and plot line, you know, like a normal trailer. This was funny and cute, but not what I was expecting.

  • LillyLove

I liked it very much. I still found it funny.

  • morgen71

    That snowman is adorable.

  • GeekGirl101

As much as I’m still annoyed at disney for rewriting a perfect story, Yes, this was funny.

  • LunaLovegood

That reindeer is adorable . I love this trailer , can’t wait to see more .

  • Carilyn

This trailer really isn’t at all representative of the storyline, but I do love when they make large animals act like dogs – it makes them 100% cuter and more likable.

What BS. I’ve been waiting for a trailer for this for months – figuring it’s about time, with the movie 5 months away – and this crap is all we get? The sidekicks stumbling in ice, without a hint of anything else going on? FAIL, Disney.

    This was adorable.

  • Maria Wang

    aww, wow looks great!
And yes, although it is reminiscent of Scrat in Ice Age, there’s a huge difference between Ice Age’s slapstick humour and this.

  • Jeremy

This was just adorable. Olaf the Snowman is adorable.

  • Rebecca Fritch

gosh, that was so cute! i just wish we could have seen more about the actual movie!

  • Valeria Andrea

Yeah, is totally cute.. but, uh… so? I hope this movie is smart & funny, not just a random emotional punch such as Brave. Something reluctant-big-kids can enjoy too.

this was cute but they should show the whole cast cause i thought it was just about the snow man
