Teen Wolf season 3, episode 2 just finished airing on the East Coast! Come read a brief recap and discuss “Chaos Rising” with your fellow fans.
Teen Wolf season 3, episode 2 “Chaos Rising” was another standout episode! It began with Lydia and Allison trying to figure out what the bruises on their arms mean. Meanwhile, Scott and Stiles went to Heather’s birthday party, where Heather promptly (and easily) seduced Stiles. However, while he was upstairs getting a condom, wine bottles flew from the shelves, and she was kidnapped right through the basement window.
The next morning, we get our first glimpse of Derek’s apartment, and we see Peter for the first time this season! He tries his best to get Isaac’s memories back, but he only sees flashes and glimpses. From this, they learn that Deucalion has made a deal with Boyd and Erica, one that will leave them dead by the full moon if it goes unfulfilled. Both Peter and Derek seemed pretty shaken up over the fact that Deucalion is involved.
In the next scene, we see Scott bringing Allison and Lydia to Derek hoping he’ll be able to find out what the bruises on their arms mean. The scene is filled with obvious tension between Derek and Allison, and Derek doesn’t believe the bruises have anything to do with finding Erica and Boyd. However, Allison seems pretty obsessed and begins to wonder if it’s a logo and not just a symbol.
Isaac then gets an ice bath on the orders of Deaton, who says it will slow his heart rate down long enough that he’ll slip into a trance-like state to make it easier for them to access his memories. Once he’s under, however, he seems too frightened to talk about it at first. After some coaxing, we find out where Boyd and Erica are being captured and that Isaac saw Erica’s body.
And although Allison has promised her father to stay out of everything supernatural, she just can’t leave well enough alone. She breaks into bank while Stiles, Scott, and Derek try to find a way into the vault itself. While Peter tries to talk them out of it, Derek and Scott decide they have to save Boyd, even if Erica is already gone.
So, who was in the vault with Boyd? Cora, of course!
When Allison is in the bank, Morrell shows up and tells her to hide. When she’s in the janitor’s closet, she sees Erica’s body. Meanwhile, Stiles is doing a great job of annoying Peter, but together they figure out why the Alpha Pack has had Boyd and Erica for so long and have done nothing with them. Scott wants to wait to figure out what exactly Deucalion is up to, but Derek forges on, willing to risk his life for the life of his pack.
In the end, we find out that Morrell is working with Deucalion, and Boyd and Cora are more vicious because they haven’t felt the effects of the full moon for three months. We also find out that Cora is Derek’s youngest sister. Allison saves their lives, but she lets Boyd and Cora out of the vault. The last shot we see is of Lydia screaming in her bedroom.
Teen Wolf season 3, episode 3 “Fireflies” will air next week, Monday, June 17 at 10 PM EST on MTV.
