United States X Factor judges Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato may be joined by Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland, according to a report.
Entertainment Weekly says that Rowland, who was a judge on the United Kingdom X Factor season 8, is currently in talks. Latin singer Paulina Rubio is rumored to be under consideration too, but that information is not confirmed at this time.
Other reports in recent weeks have indicated that Cowell hopes to have three females (including Lovato) join him at the judge’s table for X Factor season 3.
Britney Spears and L.A. Reid left the show at the end of season 2. Spears had only been on the show for one year and was not able to deliver the ratings that Cowell and his fellow producers had hoped for.
X Factor season 3 will premiere this fall on Fox. The other singing competition show on the network, American Idol, just wrapped its latest season with record low ratings. Randy Jackson recently announced that he would depart the show this year, and reports have indicated that producers are planning a complete shake up of the judge’s panel for the next season to breathe new life into the ailing program.
Rowland’s latest major appearance occurred during Beyoncé’s Super Bowl Half Time Show in which the superstar welcomed back her two Destiny’s Child partners for a surprise performance.
