Tonight The Office series finale aired closing a chapter in television history. Come chat with other fans of The Office bidding farewell to the beloved series.
Tonight the episode kicked off with us finding out that Dwight ended up firing and replacing a couple of the long-time Office staff including Stanley, Kevin and Toby. Kevin bought a bar, Toby moved to New York to write the next great American story, Stanley is living in Florida sitting on his porch all day carving birds.
The guys and the girls split up in the finale to celebrate Dwight and Angela’s bachelor and bachelorette party only to have Angela get kidnapped as part of the fun.
They also got to hold a panel about their documentary, “The Office: The Great American Workplace” where it turns out they have tons of fans that came to support them. The characters of The Office came together and gave us fans a lot of interesting information about the story over the last nine years. Two of the people who asked questions turned out to be Erin’s mother and father.
At Dwight and Angela’s wedding, Kelly and Ryan returned, Ryan toting his baby who he named Drake. Ryan gave his kid an allergic reaction so that he could get Kelly by herself. Of course, Kelly found this to be a turn on so they made out followed by, literally, running in to the sunset! After Ravi, Kelly’s boyfriend, handed the child off to Kevin, Nelly interjects suggesting she would care for the child better and takes over!
After much anticipation, Steve Carell also returned to The Office series finale as Michael Scott to stand next to Dwight during his wedding after Jim coordinated the surprise. His return line of the night: “That’s what she said.” We later find out at the wedding that Michael has 2 kids. A teary Michael tells the camera, “I feel like all my kids grew up and then married each other. It’s every parents dream!”
Pam has been showing the house for 2 months in an attempt to potentially relocate to Austin. As she is telling Jim, the buyers say they’ll take the house. It looks like Jim will be a part of the company that he founded after all!
Oscar is running for public office and gets David Wallace’s support in a brief scene.
Pam unveils a mural “The History of Us” which is dedicated to the employees of the office during the after party. They all head back upstairs to their offices, where Pam gets to be a receptionist again, saying “Dunder Mifflin, this is Pam. I’m sorry, Jim Halpert doesn’t work here anymore.” We also got to see a montage of Pam and Jim through the years beginning in season 1.
The final moments of the show featured a terrifying Creed singing a song on his guitar to everyone in the office with a montage of some of the best moments of the last nine years played.
