Dexter will see Kenny Johnson added to the current roster in the role of U.S Marshall Cooper, and will work closely with Jacob Elroy, acted by Sean Patrick Flannery.
Kenny Johnson, known for his work on The Shield as Curtis Lemansky, will be picking up a similar role in Showtime’s hit series, Dexter.
TV line have reported that Johnson will be playing a “no-nonsense and formidable lawman” who is to hunt down an infamous criminal with the help of Jacob Elroy, one of the new characters to the series, played by Sean Patrick Flannery.
Elroy, who may be his partner throughout the series, is a personal investigator that will lead most of his dealings with Debra Morgan.
Flannery confirmed cheekily that he will have a good relationship with both Debra and Dexter, but wouldn’t confirm if there would be a love interest regarding Debra.
We expect Elroy to be investigating Javier Guzman, and potentially Dexter, but things are incredibly wrapped up at the minute regarding many of the roles for the guest starring actors and actresses.
There is also the possibility that Elroy and Cooper could work cooperatively with Dr. Evelyn Vogel, who has also been drafted to identify criminals.
Dexter season 8 debuts on June 30 over on Showtime.
