In the latest Star Trek Into Darkness featurette, director J.J. Abrams looks back at how he and the cast were challenged each day while making his latest film, and that what he’ll miss most is how close he became with the cast.
With less than a week to go until Star Trek Into Darkness hits theaters, various promotional material is springing up daily. Recently we’ve had the final trailer, which featured some great new footage and showed us a new side of Captain Kirk as he decides to go after the film’s villain, played by Benedict Cumberbatch. The villain which he’ll be playing was finally confirmed after reviews came out due to the film hitting international theaters before U.S. theaters. Today we have a new featurette which focuses on the film’s director, J.J. Abrams, as he discusses the challenges that he and the cast of Star Trek Into Darkness faced during filming:
Two Star Trek Into Darkness clips were also released today, one which talks about seeing the film in IMAX 3D, and the other TV spot features the crew of the Enterprise doing a countdown of some sort, until we see a ship crash into London. Check them both out below thanks to CBM:

Star Trek Into Darkness’ release date has been changed to April 16, 2013, one day earlier than was originally planned. The film will hit IMAX theaters a day earlier, and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Alice Eve, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood and Peter Weller.
