Faced with a power outage at McKinley, Glee gets unplugged this Thursday in “Lights Out.” Listen to the upcoming episode’s songs below.
In Glee’s upcoming episode “Lights Out,” several acoustic numbers are performed by New Directions when McKinley High undergoes a power cut. Meanwhile, in New York City, Isabelle Wright returns to enlist Kurt’s help at a Vogue.com charity event.
“Lights Out” features six songs, and you can listen to these below.
The songs featured in “Lights Out” are an interesting mix of classic rock and Broadway. An acoustic episode is the perfect opportunity for Glee to feature Billy Joel’s “The Longest Time,” a doo-wop number that was long ago rumored as a season 2 Warblers performance – a rumor that turned out to be unfounded, but it’s nice to hear New Directions take on the song’s original a capella stylings.
With “Little Girls,” we get a preview of Jane Lynch as Miss Hannigan, the mistress of the cruel orphanage in Annie – a role she will be taking over next month on Broadway, and “At The Ballet” is a long narrative set to potentially provide some interesting insight into Kurt, Rachel, Santana and Isabelle, including childhood flashbacks.
Which is your favorite musical number from this week’s upcoming Glee?
