In this week’s behind-the-scenes look at Glee, the original cast members reminisce over their iconic “Don’t Stop Believing” performance and talk about first impressions.
When Glee originally premiered, there was little doubt that the show would have astronomical success — largely due to their powerful rendition of “Don’t Stop Believing.” After that first musical performance, people all over the world were instantaneously hooked and the show’s anthem was born.
Below, the cast reflects on how important this performance was to each of them personally and also to the show at large:
Behind The Scenes: “Sweet Dreams”
It’s easy to see just how much this song means to the group. They laugh and tease each other over just how far they’ve come while also sharing their first impressions of the other cast members.
The nostalgia also hit audience members hard last week. When a more mature and sophisticated Rachel Berry took to the stage for her Funny Girl audition, it was extremely obvious to see just how far the leading lady has come. Before, she would have kicked or shoved anyone else off of the stage so she could bask in the limelight. But as the iconic song kicks into gear, you realize just how much those people have come to mean to the rising star.
The full circle moment means a lot to those of us who had been there from the beginning. And maybe by the end of season 6, the new cast members will have their own “Don’t Stop Believing” moment to fondly look back on.
