Teen Wolf season 3 has promised us several new characters, including a few prominent ones in a flashback. And now we know who will be playing Talia, Derek’s mom!
Alicia Coppola sent out the following tweet sometime last week, introducing herself as Talia and saying she was looking forward to her first day on set.
Hi All…first day as Talia Hale on Teen Wolf playing young “Derek Hales” mom! Looking forward to it! Xo ACJ

So far, Talia is only being described as a deadly Alpha werewolf. We will be meeting her during the highly anticipated flashback episode, which promises more information about Derek’s past and his family. Most interestingly, however, is the fact that Talia – and some of the other flashback characters like young Derek and Laura – may even become a series regular.
Coppola has been in a slew of other roles on television but is most known for portraying Lorna Devon in Another World. She also had a role in National Treasure: Book of Secrets as agent Spellman.
Coppola certainly is striking and, physically, definitely looks like she could be Derek’s mother. She has quite a few titles under her belt, and we’re sure she’s going to be fantastic on Teen Wolf. Are you excited to finally know who will be playing Talia?
Recently, we’ve also come across a few other actors that have joined the cast, though we’re unsure of what roles they could be playing. These include Madison McLaughlin and Sam Myerson, the latter of which many fans believe could be portraying Derek’s brother.
Other ‘Teen Wolf’ characters joining season 3
Ian Nelson, who had a minor role in The Hunger Games, will be playing a young Derek Hale.
Other cast members include Max and Charlie Carver as the Alpha Pack twins, Adelaide Kane as Cora, Felisha Terrell as Kali, and Gideon Emery as Deucalion. We’ve also got Caitlin Custer, Haley Webb, Megan Tandy, and Zelda Williams joining the show in currently unnamed roles.
