Last night at Paley Fest, American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy made the fans’ dream come true when he announced that the show will in fact focus on witches in season 3 and has been given the subtitle Coven.
A few weeks ago American Horror Story alumnus Dylan McDermott teased the third season, saying, “All the witches of Salem…there’s plenty of them!” Which sent fans into a frenzy hoping that the actor wasn’t just pulling their legs.
Luckily, all their fandom dreams will officially come true now that show creator Murphy has confirmed that season 3 will center around witches, according to The Huffington Post. He also revealed the title for season 3 will be American Horror Story: Coven. This has been a long time coming according to Murphy, who says, “It’s a really cool story that we’ve been talking about for a couple of years, and this seemed like the year to do it.”
Although they are filming in New Orleans at the moment, that won’t be the only location, Murphy also confirmed. He states the season will take place in, “a lot of really cool real locations,” and that his writers are scouting out the most haunted locations in America.
Murphy also commented on newcomer Kathy Bates’ character saying, “I wanted to see a lot of scenes of Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates going at it, so that’s what you’re gonna see.”
Are you excited that ‘Coven’ is now official?
