See the five scenes released for Sunday’s Once Upon a Time episode “The Miller’s Daughter,” which will reveal Cora’s backstory!

In “The Miller’s Daughter,” Rose McGowan (Charmed) guest stars as young Cora (Barbara Hershey), and we’ll finally get to see Once Upon a Time‘s spin on the original Rumpelstiltskin fairytale! In this story, the miller’s daughter (Cora) trades her first-born child in exchange for him spinning straw into gold for her. Hmmm.

The following five clips contain huge spoilers for the episode, so watch at your own risk!

In the first clip, we see young Cora having an unfortunate run-in with the (familiar!) young royalty:

Next up, we find out just how close Rumpelstiltskin and Cora got while working together:

In this clip, Neal meets the in-laws when he arrives in Storybrooke with Emma, Henry and an injured Mr Gold:

This one’s for the Rumbelle shippers; Rumpel and Belle share a heartbreaking (for many reasons) scene:

And finally, a scene between Regina and Cora:

Are you excited for this big flashback episode? Share your theories about what will be revealed about Cora, Rumpelstiltskin and Regina – because there’s sure to be some twists and turns along the way! It wouldn’t be Once Upon a Time without them, after all.

Once Upon a Time 2×16 “The Miller’s Daughter” airs this Sunday at 8/7c on ABC!

Aw, this just makes me think of Charmed. Gosh I miss that show.

  • Alex

I appreciate the show not making cora or Regina pure evil- but good descending into evil
But did they really HAD to make ALL of Snow family originally spoiled and mean-spirited?! Why couldn’t queen Eva Been good From the beginning instead of a spoiled witch with a b.

What’s next? David Having killed his father?

I agree. I really liked Queen Eva in last week’s episode, and this one makes me not like her at all, and (dare I say it) feel sorry for Cora.

      • Alex

Well I would have prefered to Feel sympathy for Cora on her Own merit not because the princess was a witch with a b to her.

Well, that is not the same Eva that I remember . . .

  • Cara Payan

Really don’t like the 180 they did with Snow’s Mom. Her character is not the same person they showed in the last episode at all. Hope they explain the change well and make the transition smooth. Seems like a stretch for now.

Agreed. I really liked Queen Eva, but this makes me not like her at all.

I mean the biggest transition would be growing up. people grow up. they change. that high school bully is probably a pastor now.

One of the great parts about this show is the fact that the characters aren’t black and white. The good guys have helped create bad guys and the bad guys have helped create good. And children or teens who were mean to others can grow up to be understanding and good (Eva)… children who were essentially nice can become evil (Regina)

I loved these clips. Will we be getting a new onceable soon?

  • Alice Parker

First clip – YES! Zak Santiago! And why did they make Eva so … different? I hope they show her change into goodness.

Second clip – *After figuring out Santiago plays someone very important* asdfjkl; Also, CoRump is awkwardly weird.
Third clip – Who did you kill, David?
Fourth Clip – ASDFJKL; Robert’s acting!!!!

I see all this. I see character development. I see Rumbelle feels. I see complex interpersonal interactions. But all I really want to see in an “Enchanted” situation with Hook lost in New York.

    • j.

Exactly. It would be nice to see how Hook gets by… though I wonder if at the last minute they decide to bring him back on his ship?

  • dorian pratt

    i want cora to die

A lot of you are saying that you are upset about Queen Eva’s character change in this episode. But, keep in mind that people change. Spoiled people can realize they were spoiled brats, and good people (like Regina) can slowly descend into evil. People make mistakes, and hopefully they see the error of their ways and change their attitude.

  • shar

what i want to know is WHY IS NEAL ENGAGED.

  • j.

I’m not a Rumbelle fan, but the acting in Clip 4 was amazing. The argument in Clip 3 while Gold is leaning against the truck dying… not so much.

  • Samantha

The resemblance between Barbara Hershey and Rose McGowan freaks me out a bit haha great casting!
