Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers has been optioned by Ineffable Pictures, the company also behind the adaptation of The Tiger’s Curse by Colleen Houck.
Personal Demons follows the story of Frannie, a girl caught between an angel and a demon as they fight to tag her soul and capture her heart. Luc is sent to high school to claim Frannie’s soul, and all he has to do is get her to sin. Frannie is immediately caught off guard by Luc and the attention he gives her. She is attracted to him, but she can sense that Luc is dangerous. Within days of Luc’s arrival, another incredibly handsome boy turns up and is very interested in Frannie. Gabriel is everything that Luc isn’t. The story moves along, alternating points of view from Frannie to Luc. The story is fun and sexy, incorporating everything you’d expect from an angel and a demon. It will definitely appeal to a broad audience.
“I’m thrilled that Jesse Israel and the Ineffable Pictures team share my love of this trilogy and its characters,” said Desrochers in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
Personal Demons is the first book in the completed trilogy. Original Sin and Last Rite finish the series. Desrochers’ novels join the ever growing pile of young adult books being adapted for film and television.
