Tonight in Philadelphia Stephenie Meyer announced that she is currently writing the The Host sequel.

The novel will be entitled The Seeker. Both Max Irons and Jake Abel who are on tour with Meyer said they would love to work on The Host sequel.

William Hurt and Diane Kruger also star in the adaptation, which is looking to capitalize on the Twilight audience as it hits theaters next month, March 29.

When an unseen enemy threatens mankind by taking over their bodies and erasing their memories, Melanie Stryder will risk everything to protect the people she cares most about — Jared, Ian, her brother Jamie and her Uncle Jeb, proving that love can conquer all in a dangerous new world.

The Seeker has been rumored to be the The Host sequel for years but this is the first time Meyer has confirmed it. The Host has always been described as a trilogy with The Seeker and The Soul respectively being books two and three.

Meyer is currently touring the country with Jake Abel and Max Irons the stars of the film. The Host will open on March 29. Do you think The Host will be the next Twilight?

Are you excited for the ‘The Host’ sequel?

  • Jesse

Bout time gurl!!!! I’ve been waiting for the next one for forever!

  • http://www.facebook.com/skeekeedee Amber Murray

Yes! I like twilight but I love the host. Excited!

  • http://www.facebook.com/rebecca.fritch.5 Rebecca Fritch

i honesly loved how “The Host” ended, so I was kinda hoping that she wasn’t going to write another. Now that she is, I’m just praying that she doesn’t ruin it.

    • http://twitter.com/Dillon_Mays Dillon Mays

It’s supposed to be a trilogy. At least that’s what she said years ago.

      • http://www.hypable.com/author/lauracristiano/ LauraBC

You are correct it was always planned as a trilogy

    • Danielle

I didn’t really feel like the ending gave enough info on Mel and Jared, the whole book youre rooting for Mel and Jared to finally re-unite after seein all these beautiful memories, but theres no new loving memories waiting after Wanda detaches, It really was disapointing. Even in Stephanie’s bonus chapter, its just “I love you, obviously” then its done. I think they elaborated too much on Wanda and Ian and not Mel and Jared… But omg the book was stunning, i may never be able to read another book again.

      • http://www.facebook.com/AmandaMGreathouse Amanda Greathouse

Disagree. I just finished reading it. In all honesty, Mel was the background character (at least to me), it was much more about the human journey and learning about love, loss, and life, and that it was those experiences that made you human. I was rooting heavily through the book for Wanderer and Ian. I thought their story was beautiful and I felt it didn’t give enough on it either. That’s why it’s set to be a trilogy though, I suppose!

        • Piper

Ya, the journey should totally continue with Wanderer and Ian, mainly because they are the main love focus. Mel and Jared we’re a important part, but we all know how that story turns out. On the other hand, a Soul with a Human? I hope The Seeker is about Wanda. Well, here as the main Character.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kristy-Crow/1511704962 Kristy Crow

I am right there with you was hoping more of Mel in the end instead of less she could have done both…

      • Cierra

It was more about Ian and Wanda at the end because the book was through Wanda’s eyes, of course it was going to speak more about Ian and Wanda’s relationship since Melanie was no longer adding input in Wanda and her’s internal conversations, lol

      • Jessie James Nauss

Exactly!!!! she needs to write a new book on Wana’s and jared’s love!

        • Athena

          yes, totally!

        • person

      • Ris

I don’t think the elaborated on the relationship of Wanderer and Ian and Mel and Jared. Ther just wasn’t a lot of time to show enough of the couples. Though it is easy to tell the dept of their love they just didn’t have time to show much of them. And at the end it shows another soul like Wanderer but. What happens to that soul and what happens to all of his friends? Do they stay with the group in their home or do they part but keep in touch? And do they find more souls that wish to change sides? There is just so much that is missing and there needs to be more books for the series or it’s just lost. I’m extremely excited for the new book and can’t wait until it’s out.

    • http://www.facebook.com/elizabeth.e.woodard Elizabeth Elaine Woodard

      So negative and arrogant

    • beth

well to be fair with the way the host ended, if you don’t want to you don’t have to read the next ones if they ever WILL be released. :/

    • Piper

I totally agree with you. From what I’ve read about it, Mel is the main character. Is Wanda supposed to be in it? I mean, she’s my favorite character. If it’s just Mel, I don’t think Ill be able to get through it. I hate it when main characters change. It just hurts the soul…

  • Glaciusx

  • LunaLovegood

I dont know. I readed all her Twilight Saga books more than once and loved them , then I tried to the Host and I wasnt a fan of it ( I couldnt even finish the book I was more than half way finished and it was very boring and duel to me ).

  • alyssamz

    • alysamz

Also i guess some people just didnt know

The Host has always been a planned trilogy!

shes just been busy with other stuff forever

this isnt a new money grabbing development…

this is part of the story
      not a random addition

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=607519910 Catherine Lai

Yay! I love The Host, but I don’t want it to be the next Twilight, in that I don’t want it to be a widely hated and ridiculed thing, and to be looked down upon for being a fan.

    • Sia

Yes Twilight was hated but A LOT OF PEOPLE like me loved it ! It’s just one of those things and I don’t see anything wrong with that.

      • Charlie

I think the movie is what gave Twilight a bad reputation. I LOVE the books and have read them several times. However, I wasn’t all that impressed with the movies. Usually when I hear ridicule regarding Twilight, it’s in reference to the movies. I do have to admit that the movies have gotten progressively better as the series has gone on. At least up until the last one. I wasn’t a fan. I honestly couldn’t say that they are my favorite movies ever. They’re not the worst either. My best friend on the other hand has made me watch all of them in the theaters with her. Ha ha! She loves them. Now keep in mind that we are both in our 30′s. This isn’t a teen opinion.

        • http://www.facebook.com/debbie.palmer.564 ‘Debbie Palmer

loved Twilight Books and The Host was fantastic , I am expecting The Seeker to be a great book as well. Also I would like to see Midnight Sun finished. I enjoyed reading from Edward’s view.

          • Wanda

            Amen, my friend.

      • Piper

        Me, too.

    • http://www.facebook.com/The.Queen.of.Quilting Vickie Burr Pippin

The people who hated it…1..didnt read it….and …2 …..just wanted something to hate..it was a very good love story.

      • http://www.facebook.com/chantelle.straw Chantelle Sirius Straw

I don’t think the people who hated it didn’t read and just wanted something to hate. I for one, despise the books and the movies, having read and watched all of them, so obviously I don’t hate them because I want something to hate and I definitely have justifications for my opinion but I certainly wouldn’t look down on ANYONE for liking them; everyone has their own opinions on what makes a good book and there will never be a book that every single person in the world loves, not even something as well love as the Harry Potter series, and so people need to learn not to judge people for what they read. I know a lot of people, my mother included, who adore the Twilight books and the films and I don’t begrudge them that. But that also works the other way; people who love the Twilight series shouldn’t get all pissy at people who don’t like them; allow people to have their own opinions as long as they’re not shoving them down your throat or hating on you for them. Accept that some people like the series and others don’t.
In other news; not really looking forward to this being a trilogy, I feel like she ended it so perfectly and with SUCH finality that any sequel would feel disjointed, added on and wouldn’t run smoothly. I’m extremely worried she’s going to ruin this simply so she can squeeze out another hit

        • http://twitter.com/Just_Mea Mea H-C

The book ended perfectly for a sequel. Obviously it will be the journey of reuniting humans now that they know other groups exist. That being the point of throwing that in at the end. I’m excited to see the journey honestly. Wasn’t happy with the movie. Would be hard to watch if I’d never read the book. Lacks a lot. But alas I’m still a fan. :)

        • Anonymous

Well you don’t have to read the other two books if you don’t want to ruin that perfect ending.

And I kind of agree with what your saying, about twilight, I did like the book but the main character….not so much. The movie, with Kristen, just made it worse. I also didn’t like those fans that makes barriers or even teams, meaning those crazy ones that bashes you if you’re not as crazy similar as them. So intimidating.

I felt that the main character of twilight was kind of useless and in the way most of the time. But she is the reason for all those drama and conflicts in the book that made it interesting, so you just learn to live with it.

The Host is the best!! lol

          • Piper

    • Stpatronus

The Reason people hated twilight was Kristen Stewart’s inability to show any emotion

    • Sarah Anne Birley

see I REALLY hated the twilight books and movies (i don’t like Bella’s character in both) but i ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE the Host. I love Wanda and I grew to like/love Mel by the middle/end of the book, i like the story, the goal, the moral everything about the book! I have been hoping for more to their story ever sense I finished the Host for the first time. But I really don’t see how the horrid twilight series could have been written by the same person as the marvelous Host universe.

  • Red

I really like the Host, pleeeease let this not be “the next Twilight” though :/

  • Em

I really feel like Melanie’s and Wanda’s stories have finished so the idea of a sequel isn’t super appealing. Maybe it’ll be focusing on different characters that weren’t in The Host?

    • http://www.hypable.com/author/lauracristiano/ LauraBC

Given the ending of the book, my guess is it would be about contacting other survivors and mounting a resistance

    • http://www.facebook.com/elizabeth.e.woodard Elizabeth Elaine Woodard

Why is everybody being so damn negative about this?!?!? Stephanie has had the first half of the second book written for a few years! If nobody can say anything positive, then keep to your dam selves!

  • Alice_Hermione

AHH So excited! I love The Host! My one friend and I were just talking about this recently so I am glad this news came out! I mean she said years ago it was going to be a trilogy and now it is happening!!

  • Kiana

I honestly felt that The Host was a great book all on its own.

  • Jenny

No…it was a good book…don’t ruin it with a sequel just so you can make more money….nooooooooooo

    • Sheechiibii

It was always planned as a trilogy right from the start. Meyer’s just been busy doing other things. I agree that the book was good on its own, but often the first book of a trilogy is like that.

    • http://www.facebook.com/elizabeth.e.woodard Elizabeth Elaine Woodard

  • Sia

It won’t be as huge as Twilight but I think it’s different in a whole different way and will be loved by a different group ! I’m excited for the sequel !

    • http://www.facebook.com/elizabeth.e.woodard Elizabeth Elaine Woodard

It will be as big as twilight! Bigger by the time the second book comes out! Stupid negative people

  • http://twitter.com/CassiopeiaDrake Cassie Drake

Although, I feel like “The Host” ended really well and works great as a standalone novel. I know it was always intended to be a trilogy, so I’d been impatiently waiting for sequels, but as more time passes, and the more times I re-read “The Host” with less and less expectations of a sequel, the more I kinda want it to stand alone.

  • http://www.facebook.com/raina.shannon Raina Shannon

But I liked it being one book… What could possibly be body-snatching the body-snatchers?

  • http://www.facebook.com/trina.shank Trina Shank

I am super excited about the sequel! Loved the first book :) cant wait for the next! Hurrrrryyyyy!!

  • http://xyue-mayx.deviantart.com/ Dreamer

I always knew this was going to be a trilogy but I was kinda hoping she’d drop that idea… Well, crossing fingers that this one is as good or even better as the last one! I hope she moves more towards the sci-fi side rather than the romance side.

  • Kelsey

I believe that the his us ten times better than twilight !!! It will always be better cause it us my favorite book!!!

  • Marie miller

Can’t wait to read them Stephanie Meyer does not disappoint. I retread the host all the time.

  • Rena!

my sisters read the book before it came out on a movie so i read it and feel in love. so i have been stalkeing the internet looking for the realse date! when is the realse date for the sequel??? and i hope its not the next twiltlight cuss the movies were not as good as the books and i hope everythging about the ‘The Host’ series is going to be alot better. i love it wen there is a series in books i wish all books series :p!

No no no no no! I love the host, and thought i’ve never read the twilight series i didn’t like the films that much.

    • Sheechiibii

What are you disagreeing with? That Meyer is making a sequel to the Host or that they’re making a film out of it?

  • Sammi

I can’t wait for the second book to come out. I’ve read “The Host” about 17 times, and I know “The Seeker” will be good. But, I don’t think they should have made a movie for the book if she hadn’t written the rest yet, and the trailers disappoint me, mostly the seeker though. Seriously, a tall blonde? What happened to the short, petite, Black-haired seeker, who wore all white?

  • Chloe Goodell

I loved “The Host!” I read it within the same week I finished the Twilight Series. Back in January of 2009. The Host was the one that should have been made into a movie first. The Twilight series wasn’t as good as just this one book. I’m excited to see more of the world through “The Seeker” and “The Soul.” But I’m going to be pretty upset if they aren’t as good as “The Host”

  • http://www.facebook.com/raeyber Sydney Ylo’n Bernard

The Seeker might follow the Seeker from The Host’s story. Or it could be about what happens after they find all the other rebel cells. I don’t think they’ll be bad, I’m pretty darn excited for them.

  • Troy

Am I excited for The Host sequel? Well I just finished The Host – love the book – and have been searching for the next book The Seeker to start reading – when I found out there was a sequel. So you could say I’m excited considering I’m disappointed that I can’t get it in my hot little hands to read it now.

  • http://www.facebook.com/anna.p.gill Anna Gill Fishh

.Ahhhhh this makes me so happy! I just finished The Host for my second time and was so sad it was over. I can honestly say I cannot wait for the next 2 books! As for the movie I’m exited and worried because I have no clue how they could even make it close to as good as the book. I actually hope its not the ‘next twilight’ , don’t get me wrong I <3 twilight but I can't stand when people say the next… because everything is different and its own.

  • http://www.facebook.com/elizabeth.e.woodard Elizabeth Elaine Woodard

  • emmelafon

I agree the that the first book seems complete, but after reading what a great story it was, I’m confident that Meyer’s got a few other things up her sleeve to share about Melanie and Wanda. If she actually does write it, that is.

    • sussin

I agree!!! I think she’s plenty capable of writing a promising sequel. After all, the host was super good. She wouldn’t write another one if she thought it wasn’t just as good.

  • http://www.facebook.com/annanicolewilson Anna Wilson-Tatum

I’m excited for the next books but not the movie. I’m afraid they’ll ruin it. It’s such an amazing story and so long. Too long for just one movie.

  • http://expandng.com/ lisacng @ expandng.com

Just finished The Host so yes I am excited about 2 sequels!

  • Emily

I can’t wait!!! I love the host, and twilight and even though twilight was hated there are many twi hards and so I hope the host does turn out to be the next twilight

  • jen bonny

yay!!! The Host is literally my FAVORITE book! when do you think the Seeker will come out?

  • Kawther Al-Dabagh

I’m so excited xD! I just hope it’s as good as the first. And no, it’s not the next Twilight, but I think instead it’ll be unique in its own way :3

  • I love Jared Howe

I’m super weird and I loved the book but Wanda was a lot like Bella in the fact that I found her hair bit annoying. I adored Melanie though and was rooting for her the entire time. Now I never really got in board with Ian I REALLY REALLY REALLY tried to like him because the girl who lent me the book loved him. So I tried to adore him like so many other fans but just couldn’t get over how AWESOME Jared is. I’m looking forward to the books but hope its not only about Wanda and Ian and Melanie and Jared still get a chance to shine.

  • Riches&Fame

The Host is way better than Twilight

  • AR1234567

I loved the ending of “The Host” so I’m a little worried how the next books are going to be.

  • shan

Loved the Host cannot wait for the sequel

  • http://www.facebook.com/laimute.kederiene Laimute Kederiene

omg i wait another part :)) this is the best movie and book i ever read and watch :)

  • Leah

The book, in a way, was pure and refreshing. I liked the Twilight Saga but it was very immature in a sense when compared the The Host. I am ecstatic with the idea of more books and possibly more movies but I hope it doesn’t go down the “twilight” road and ruin the plot and wonderful characters and world building for me.

  • blinn bitches

    fuck ym yliwefe ???/?/??

  • Tori

I am so excited for Stephanie to (hopefully) write the next to two books as it has always been planned! I loved the host but I feel like the ending really didn’t answer my questions about how Melanie and Jared worked out and Wanda and Ian and Jamie and how wanda is dealing with her new body! that’s why I feel there needs to be two more books! To really go into depth about what happened after everything especially with the other humans and soul they met at the end of the book!

  • Susan G

I’m looking forward to her next 2 books. There is so much more she can do with it. Yes, the ending was great and it brings Souls and Humans together. However, there will be resistance from the Souls that do not want Humans to take back Earth. There is so much she can do with this series!!!!! Go STEPHENIE! Anything you write I’ll read!

    • books 4 life

      me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BeckyKay

I loved the host!!!! After I read the book, no other book is as good. Thank god I can enjoy at least two more books. And the movie was amazing too but I didn’t like the actress that played wanderer at the end. I expected someone different. Overall, everything was perfect. Perfect book perfect movie perfect actors and perfect soundtrack (I’m uppsessed with radioactive by imagine dragons ever since I saw that movie).

  • http://twitter.com/Just_Mea Mea H-C

I really really hate how this is compared to Twilight. Other than the fact that they have he same author and having people who are or fall in love in it, it is nothing alike. Not even close. So how writing a sequel would make this anything like twilight I have no idea. Besides being a big hit was not a bad thing last I checked. I am excited for sequels. I can see how the ending was good as is and the fear of ruining what seems like an already satisfying ending by adding more can be… Upsetting. But I prefer to see it as bringing more depth to a world I am in love with reading about. So hooray for sequels. I can’t wait!! (On mobile I apologize for lack of punctuation.)

  • Frankly Me =P

I hope to god The Host isn’t the next Twilight. Its too good to be like that piece of trash.

  • Frankly Me =P

Also, I’m kinda hoping this ends in humans declaring war on the souls and taking their planet back again =P But I have a feeling that that won’t happen……

  • Naomi Longo

I’m very excited for this sequel but i will be very disappointed if she doesn’t end up doing it like with midnight sun.

I’m hoping that shes not going to kill any main characters like Mel, Jared, Wanda, Ian, Jeb, Jamie or Doc.

I want to see what wanda and ians relationship is like now she has her new body. And the relationship between Jared and Mel now he has her back,

Im wondering if the seeker ends up coming back and was never shipped off?

I also want to hear more about the newcomers at the end.

There are SO many possibilities to this sequel I’m sooo excited! Although stephenie did say it was going slowly. I also want to know what mel and wanda are going to be like in seperate bodies now and how the rest of the humans see her in a different body (Wanda).

    I could go on forever.

  • Audrey

I think that the movie was actually one that was as good as the book :D i loved the book and im really excited for another to be written! i wish shed make another twilight book haha..

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kristy-Crow/1511704962 Kristy Crow

When is all I wanna know?

  • Hello12

Honestly Melanie doesn’t really care about Ian but Wanda does

  • bla

are you kidding me? more books seriously aren’t necessary, give it a break!

    • Sheechiibii

Well considering it was always planned as a trilogy, before the first book was ever written, I’d say it’s not only necessary, but logical.

  • alex

Omg omg omg OMG OMG OMG IM SO HAPPY

  • hollie

  • Tyler

I can not wait for the book to come out. She left the end of The Host with a cliff hanger. I’m just hoping that it will be as well written as The Host. I’m wondering what person she will choose to show the perspective of.

  • Kelsey KES

I am super excited, and I want a longer story!

  • http://www.facebook.com/Everglass Jessica Porter

  • Gabrielle

I’m crying right now I want this so bad. Gimme The Seeker…. Please.

  • Leslie Ginch

I loved the Host and thought it was better than Twilight. However I loved the entire series (and wish despretely that Midnight Sun was being published.. Darn those leakers!! I love Edward and the story made me love him more, but this is about the Host not Twilight). I can’t wait for all the awesome books coming out next year! Can’t wait for The Seeker and The Soul! Although I wanted another book after The Host, I have no idea what she can expand on! Good luck Ms. Meyer! (p.s. LOVED MIDNIGHT SUN!!!!)

  • http://www.facebook.com/jefferson.aquiles Jefferson Aquiles

She might’ve intended for The Host to be a Trilogy allright, but i do agree that the way she ended the first book could be considered as final for those who didn’t know about the upcoming books.
I for one enjoyed reading The Host and was seriously happy with that ending being as final (note that i didn’t know about it being a Trilogy).
Either way, i’m looking forward to reading the next books and hoping that she won’t screw them up since The Host was very well written and it sure came as a big surprise for most people who readed the Twilight Saga.
That said, i’d like to rant a bit on a points:
First, i’m not sure if it is all for the sake of merchandising or because Mrs. Meyer has a really childish personality, but what’s up with the Midnight Sun?
It actually was much more interesting than Twilight. I guess that’s because she was writing from Edward’s p.o.v., instead of Bella’s (which she couldn’t reflect her own personality on).
So why would she drop writing it for so long? And don’t tell me it was because of the leak because that’s completelly ridiculous. From where i stand, it looks to me that she just couldn’t explain the tale without all the woo’ing and boo’ing used from Bella’s perspective.
Secondly, i did read the whole Twilight Saga. I read The Host. I don’t dislike the ones who love the stories for i liked the stories a lot as well. What is very annoying though is when people become fanatic about it, like being in love with the characters and cursing people online who actually analize the story or Mrs. Meyer’s storytelling.
Either way, i’ll be waiting eagerly for The Seeker / The Soul, since on The Host Mrs. Meyer did such a great job.

  • Kaylee

I would love to see how the second and third book turn out to be. I really loved the host, i love how everything at the end was put together to make everyone happy. I want to see how Ian, Wanda, Jared, and Melanie work on their love lives and how they plan to get their world back from the “aliens” Overall, i really hope that Stephenie Meyer doesn’t ruin them and they turns out to be great books.

  • MS. Taylor Abel

I loved the book and would highly enjoy a sequel, but i doubt they would make it into a movie. By the time the book is published and it gets popular all the young actors like Jamie (Chandler Canterbury), Ian (Jake Abel), Jared (Max Irons) and lead Character Melanie (Saorise Ronan) will have grown up and that may cause a problem unless the book was intended that way.

  • Kaytee

The host will be way better than Twilight.

  • cookies

I loved the book! It was the most amazing book i have ever read! I can’t wait to read the seeker! When i finished the book, I was on fire! My mothre couldn’t get me away from it! I wouldn’t let anyone touch it. I thought that the story was good the way it was.
I wouldn’t change anything about it. I didn’t want to hear about Melanie and Jared.
I wanted to hear about Wanda and Ian. I hope she dosen’t change who the story is based on. I’m hoping for a third and fifth book for the host too.

  • Bella

I hope the seeker carries on what the host ended, I really hope it isn’t from anyone other than Wanda or Melanie’s point of view. I also don’t think she could end it without the revolution of the humans reclaiming their planet, it seems unfinished to me. I always thought a sequel was in the cards

  • Bella

I kind if feel that because the book has so much length in everything that happens the movie just couldn’t give enough detail or show a lot of the important aspects trying to get it done in the space of about 2 Hours. Can’t really appreciate it unless you’ve read the book first

  • Kelly

When will The Seeker be released?

  • tanz

She should continue the host sequel!! Of course the twilight series is soo much better, but I really enjoyed the host too! I would really enjoy the host part 2! I really like the characters! Both the book and movie are incredible!! I could say that i am a fan!

  • Jonny Holdiman

I knew that Wanda was going to live without even reading the books.

  • Kitty

Stephanie should make it that in 1 of the books wands gets pregnant that would make an awesome story line

  • Loved the book

Is it just me, or does anyone else watch the movie of a great book and their images get messed up of what the characters actually look like in your head??

  • Cool book to read

I think for one of the trilogy books Stephanie should make it that Wanda gets pregnant. that would make an awesome storyline on how it would affect the rest of the humans and how they would react to it, especially the main characters i think it would really be awesome to read.

    • books 4 life

funny thing I’ve been thinking the same thing ever sense I read the host.(which by the way one of favorite books)

  • bugg

I really want to know when it is going to be published or if it is already out

    • books 4 life

me too she’s such a great author, I can’t wait for the seeker to come out, and I just found out while reading these comments that there’s another book other than those two, I just can’t hold in my excitement!

  • Athena

does anyone know when (if ever) the Seeker will be released? I’m hoping soon…

  • Jamie Sue

I only watched the movie but I will probably end up reading the book. I loved the movie and was so surprised i enjoyed it! I don’t think the Host could really be hated because the plot doesn’t seem to be cliche in the sense there’s no vampires and werewolf’s that have been way overplayed. This is a science fiction not fantasy making it much more appealing to me. I think my reasoning to read the next books would not be so much for the romance, seems I could make peace with that from the ending of the host, but to see how these groups come together and how they learn to coexist rather than completely take over humanity. I’d like to see the humans fight back and in the end The alien species live side by side with the humans like they had in previous planets.

    The Host.
This book by far beat the Twilight Saga…and I am a complete TWILIGHT FAN!! I have read each book like a bizillion times!! But this book was so amazing. It was captivating and heartwreching. It was a freaking ROLLERCOASTER of emotions and I finished the book in a day using two boxes of tissues. The book was very well written, it flowed amazingly well, How could you not fall in love with the characters? They were so much better characterized instead of the background supporting characters like in the Twilight Saga. Each character in The Host had a distinctive role during Wanda’s time in Mel’s body. I am very anxious to finish the series. The movie was just as good as the book. There were major detours from the book which is to be expected but they made the movie feel sooooooo RUSHED which was sad, but overall the movie was GREAT and I could handle all the changes except one. I was very disappointed in the ending. First of all Jamy chose Wanda a blonde curl-haired little girl who looked like an angel because thats how he invisioned her, thats what he always thought she would look like; instead her new look was totally disappointing. I was waiting patiently on the little blonde angel to appear yet that is not what happened, instead she had dark hair like Mel. I wouldve rather they have been as different in physical appearance as they were in spirit. Wanda was a gentle soul who always put others above herself even at the risk of her own death. Her new character appearance should have shown that completely. I mean the actress would have still been a fine choice just give her blonde curly hair…that would work for me.
I am so looking forward to the next book…or next movie…either or both. Who would’ve thought I would like books about aliens taking over our planet? Just please leave the spiders out….*horrified*shiver* Cant even think about it.

Honestly, I’ve been waiting for so long for that sequel it’s heart wrenching. Hope that this year will be the announcement if when the book will come out!

Also, in my opinion, there is no way to compare this to twilight. I read the whole series, which truthfully did hook me in, but was kind of ruined by the gossips of the movie. The movie itself was hot! But the fans were intimidating with picking teams and the gossips.

The movie, The Host, was stunning. But I think it lacked the emotions that made the book so much more than Twilight. The movie of The Host, was in a way….relaxing, not that flashy. It’s a calm movie, which I liked surprisingly the characters just grew into me, except for the new Wanda but hopefully if she has more screen time she will grow to be Wanda. Maybe that’s one of the reasons why it’s being criticized. Actually I thought the movie was in a hurry to cram all the main points together, but still a stunning movie.

while the first book had a perfect ending, it did leave me with some questions. Like, do they show the other groups how to take out souls? Is there going to be a new love interest for Wanda, especially with a soul just like her in the picture? Is there a possibility of a baby coming? One between Wanda and Ian or Melanie and Jared? Are the souls going to revolt? Will there be a new enemy? So don’t just focus on what the first book had to offer,( while it is still important) think of the other possibilities and ideas the new book could bring. So don’t shoot it down right away.

I’ve seen it I’ve read it I’ve got the audio book Stephenie you are amazing, i wasn’t a big fan of twilight but I watched host and fell in love with it but at the end it said based on the novel by stephenie and I loved it. It made me cry and I haven’t dried in 6 years, me not likeing twilight but loving host will open a much bigger fan collection and I’m a boy and usually hate love stories but this was just incredible.

Stephenie if you are reading this. all the bashful comments mean nothing it’s because of you that I’ve got into twilight now. When I love a film= happy. When I love a film based on a novel= screaming. When I love a film based on a novel with audio book= A lot of people complaining because some random guy hugged them on the street
