Justin Bieber pulled double duty on SNL as host and musical guest. Missed the show? Check out these highlights!
Justin Bieber hosted Saturday Night Live as another musician-turned-actor. He pulled double duty as host and musical guest, following in the footsteps of Bruno Mars earlier this year. Adam Levine also has appeared as host and musical guest (with his band Maroon 5), though not in the same week.
Unfortunately for Justin Bieber fans, SNL‘s writing was not at its best last night. Much of the material wasn’t funny, but it wasn’t really bad either. Unsurprisingly, Bieber was at his best when he was in his comfort zone of singing. Promoting the release of his latest album, Believe Acoustic, Bieber performed acoustic versions of two of his songs, “As Long as You Love Me” and “Nothing Like Us.”

In a particularly weak SNL night, this sketch was notably stupid, but had us in stitches anyway.

Bieber Decoys
We don’t really know what to think about this sketch. It was well on its way to being one of the better sketches of the night until the very out of place Saddam Hussein joke stopped it dead in its tracks. We’re all about shock factor and inappropriate humor, but a line was crossed and the live audience didn’t let even a chuckle escape. In an interesting move, NBC has not put this SNL sketch online, likely due to that joke.
