On Thursday, January 31, at 9 a.m. PST, we saw Lizzie and Darcy discover the website promising a sex tape of Lydia and Wickham. Since then, a few things have happened.
Fitz was the first to speak after the incident.

And then on Friday, we got this adorable conversation between brother and sister.
Gigi decides to message Darcy during her demo video, and ask about the situation. Darcy claims to be doing “nothing” about the incident, at which Gigi calls him, and demands an explanation. Darcy then admits to trying to help, but refuses to allow Gigi to get involved in the matter, worried that she’s too close to the issue, and that it’ll reopen old wounds.
Sunday, at 3 p.m. PST, Gigi asks Fitz whether he’s seen the website.
Not only has he seen it, but he points her to the official Twitter account.
But the rest of the conversation is what’s really interesting.

And then we get to laugh as Fitz makes fun of handegg – excuse me – football.
But we learned several things from this conversation. First to note is Brandon. We’ve finally got a name to put to Fitz’s boyfriend. And many wonder if it’s a reference to a certain Colonel…And if so, what does that mean for other adaptions undertaken by the LBD crew?
There’s also the fact that Fitz has left his handegg-loving-boyfriend home alone on the night of the Super Bowl. Which means he’s probably out of town, most likely with Darcy. Question is, where do you go when you need a sex tape taken down, and how do you do it?
Finally, episode 85 in the LBD came out this morning. Turns out, Mr. and Mrs. Bennet know nothing. Jane is too swamped to get on the internet. And, whoops, Lizzie misjudged Lydia again because she bombed her little sis with the information that the guy she loved made a sex tape for the internet…on camera.
Opinion…
I’ll admit, this new, vulnerable Lydia has been hard for me to accept. And I saw several commentors complaining of Mary Kate’s acting. I sympathized with her more after watching her last video, but I still question the writer’s decision to reveal the information to Lydia this way.
Seeing Lydia fall in love with Wickham, and turning her back on her family, has degraded her in my view. I like the old Lydia because she belonged wholly to herself, and had integrity. I think the next few episodes will shape my view of her, as I watch how she deals with the news.
