The highly-anticipated The Muppets sequel The Muppets… Again! began shooting in London last week, and two great stills promoting the film have been released.

In The Muppets… Again!, the “Muppets gang [head out on] a global tour, selling out grand theatres in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine — the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit — and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais.”

In this first photo we see Miss Piggy, Kermit the Frog, and comedian Ricky Gervais smiling (and winking) at the camera. In the second photo, we see nothing but Muppets – and a new criminal in the background? In both scenes the cast members are in the London Underground, which is the city’s subway transportation system.

The film is directed by James Bobin (Flight of the Conchords, Da Ali G Show) and also stars 30 Rock‘s Tina Fey and Modern Family‘s Ty Burrell. New music will be written by Bret McKenzie, who scored Flight of the Conchords and won an Oscar for “Man or Muppet” from The Muppets.

The only thing not looking good about this film so far is the title. We would’ve preferred The Muppets 2 over The Muppets… Again!

The Muppets… Again! opens March 21, 2014.

I’m just glad to see that Walter is sticking with them. That is awesome!

While The Muppets… Again! is a much better title than The Muppets 2 (More like The Muppet Movie 8), it still sucks. Other than that though, it looks great.
