Yesterday, Dan Radcliffe’s as-yet picked up film Kill Your Darlings hosted its world premiere at Sundance in Park City, Utah. It was very well received by critics, and now Radcliffe is talking about one particular aspect of the film: the sex. The gay sex.
In Kill Your Darlings, Radcliffe plays Beat poet Allen Ginsberg, who is a gay man. E! Online spoke to the actor after seeing the film and asked him about what it was like to shoot gay sex scenes.
“It was something new,” Radcliffe revealed.
If to be believed, there goes all the rumors about him being gay.
“But you know what,” he continued, “We shot that whole scene in maybe an hour and a half so it was incredibly fast-paced. I didn’t really have time to stop to think and worry about it.”
John Krokidas, a new director, helped the (gay sex) virgin through the scene. “John was very helpful in furnishing me with a lot of graphic detail of what I would be experiencing at the various stages.” We can’t even imagine.
Who was the man who participated in the scene with Radcliffe? In this particular scene E! and Radcliffe talk about, Allen hooks up with a sailor. The actor playing that role was just a friend of Krokidas’. “We were able to hang out a little bit on set and get to know each other a little bit, which I think is important when you’re doing a scene so intimate,” Radcliffe said. “You have to feel like you’re both in it together.”
Kill Your Darlings will likely be picked up for distribution in the next few days. Around the same time, the studio who purchases it should set a release date. It is expected to open in theaters sometime this year.
Thanks to E! Online for the interview.
