The first clip for the Stephenie Meyer-produced Sundance film Austenland, written and directed by Jerusha Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) and starring Keri Russell and Bret McKenzie, has been released.
The film, which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival earlier today, is based off the 2007 novel by Shannon Hale and tells the story of a woman traveling to a Jane Austen theme park in search for her perfect gentleman after becoming obsessed with the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice.

Premiering earlier today at Sundance, some critics and festival attendees took to Twitter to offer their reaction on the film:
Liked AUSTENLAND. Has some fun moments with a solid 3rd act and great ending credits. Will get picked up. #Sundance13

Austenland was … fine-ish. Though, hard to resist any movie that features the music of Billy Ocean and Roxette. Yet I kinda did. #sundance

Jerusha Hess’ ‘Austenland’ is more ‘Gentleman’s Broncos’ than Napoleon Dynamite. Has some fun moments but is boringly predictable #Sundance

Meyer produced the film with Gina Mingacci, while Robert Fernandez and Dan Levinson are executive producers.
