Two brand new The Host character posters featuring Saoirse Ronan as Melanie Stryder and Max Irons as Jared Howe have arrived as another interview with Stephenie Meyer and the film’s cast and crew hits the web.
We’ve included the just-sent over posters for Andrew Niccol’s adaptation below, as they arrive in advance of the film’s rapidly approaching March 29 release date.
When an unseen enemy threatens mankind by taking over their bodies and erasing their memories, Melanie Stryder (Ronan) will risk everything to protect the people she cares most about — Jared (Irons), Ian (Jake Abel), her brother Jamie (Chandler Canterbury) and her Uncle Jeb (William Hurt), proving that love can conquer all in a dangerous new world.
In a brand new Q&A-style interview with The Hollywood Reporter, author Stephenie Meyer, writer/director Andrew Niccol, and the film’s cast spoke about the book-to-screen adaptation and what to expect from it.
Regarding a adaptation of a sequel to The Host which Meyer is writing, she said, “I think they’d like to keep going [with a film series]. That’s the conversation I’ve had. I think the biggest hold-up is the fact that I’m writing so slow.”
Niccol noted: “I’ll have to speak to Stephenie about that if she wants me back. It’s so secretive, I don’t even know what the next story is. It’s up in the air. Until there’s a second book, I can’t quite make a lead to a second film, but I would love to work with her again. It’s been such a fun collaboration.” Niccol also noted The Host will run at two hours in length — the book is 600 pages.
