If you’ve already picked up your exclusive edition of John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars from your local Barnes & Noble, you may notice that it’s not what you expected. Now it looks like we’ll have to wait just a bit longer to get our hands on this new edition.
A few weeks ago we announced that John Green’s exclusive edition of The Fault in Our Stars would hit shelves on January 3, but after a printing error, the original publish date has been pushed back. To give Penguin time to reprint John Green’s bestselling novel, the publisher is setting the new release date for January 14.
You can still preorder The Fault in Our Stars exclusively from Barnes & Noble.
John Green apologized via Twitter to concerned readers who reported that their copies of The Fault in Our Stars collector’s edition had pages out of order. It turns out that there was a massive printing error in all, or at least most, copies of the book.
@kelseyaijala Someone messed up very badly. Return the book to your local B&N or if you ordered it online contact customer service. Sorry!

If you’ve already purchased the book, Green advises readers to return the book to your local Barnes & Noble or contact customer service.
@toribarnaskas I am also upset. You can either return it to your local B&N or contact bn.com customer service.

The exclusive collector’s edition of The Fault in Our Stars features an extensive author Q&A with John Green, exclusive endpaper art by Rodrigo Corral, and a sleek silver jacket.
The Fault in Our Stars has been named TIME magazine’s #1 Fiction book of 2012 (all fiction, not just YA), as well as remaining a New York Times bestseller since its release last January.
While we’re a little disappointed that we have to wait a couple more weeks to get our hands on an error-free copy, we’re still looking forward to all the extra goodies this collector’s edition has to offer.
