A new Game of Thrones video has been released showing new season 3 footage and featuring interviews with the crew members.
In the video, art director Helen Greenless talks about the differences making Game of Thrones from year to year, and how with all the new locations and characters, “It just doesn’t get boring.” Her fellow art director Tom Still adds that because of the fantasy genre, “you’re given the license to be a bit more creative” within a medieval setting which has to feel somewhat familiar.
Location manager Robert Boake talks about the way in which the show follows the journeys of the various characters through the landscapes, and “it’s important to make sure that each stop or camp feels different.”
The feature also gives us looks at new character Jojen Reed (played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster), Jon Snow and Ygritte, Tyrion, Cersei, Tywin, and Jaime and Brienne.
“You get a sense that you’re working on something quite special,” Still says, rounding off the video very nicely.
Game of Thrones returns March 31, 2013 – now with longer episodes! The third season will span the first half of the third novel in the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin, titled A Storm of Swords.
