Have you ever wondered what The Walking Dead would be like without the red blood spray or pinkish guts? The show is set to lose its color in February.
When AMC aired The Walking Dead pilot episode in black and white in July, fans were thrilled to see their favorite show in a new light. There is an eeriness that comes with taking the color out of the zombie apocalypse show, making it even more haunting.
Showrunner Glen Mazzara retweeted a photo, according to Collider, from The Walking Dead magazine indicating the black and white show run. The photo shows a snippet from the magazine, which states that The Walking Dead will have its first two seasons drained of color and shown on AMC.
Take a look at the photo, as tweeted by Mazzara.
We’re definitely looking forward to seeing seasons 1 and 2 of The Walking Dead in a new form – and this black and white alternative will be more reminiscent of Robert Kirkman’s original comic version.
The article notes, “this new way of enjoying the TV show has been fully endorsed by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and should prove very popular with fans of the comic book.”
As fans of the comics ourselves, we definitely see this as a cool new way to view one of our favorite TV shows.
The Walking Dead will air its first two seasons in black and white this upcoming February, when the third season returns on February 10.
