Here’s a fun The Vampire Diaries video to help get us through the hiatus: the cast members read some awkward fanfiction!

Ah, fanfiction. Shaping the new generation of authors… and bringing out the 50 Shades of Grey readers in all of us.

In this hilarious video from EW, the poor stars of The Vampire Diaries are subjected to a sample of the madness. Nina Dobrev, Candice Accola, Zach Roerig and Michael Trevino do some readings for us.

We get some steamy Elena/Alaric action, some hot Katherine/Matt, and a surprisingly adorable Elena/Tyler conversation about how they could have two kids named Jenna and Mason. And of course then there’s Candice Accola’s rather intense Rebekah/Caroline scene reenactment (complete with eye contact), which has to be our favourite! You know, Accola should really do this acting thing for a living.

So. Fess up. Who’ll be getting their Vampire Diaries fix from fanfiction during this hiatus?!

The Vampire Diaries returns January 17 with the episode “After School Special,” which will pick up the pieces following last night’s intense winter finale. What did you think about the episode? Do you have any theories about what will happen when the show returns in the new year?

Thanks to @_unforgiven for the news tip!

Candice Accola is absolutely hilarious. She makes TVD that much better :)
